YorkieTalk Newbie! | ![]() Hi to all, I recently lost my 11 year old baby Tedi due to a sudden and very unexpected health issue, my second Yorkie baby lost in 16 months (: Needing to fill my heart again, I am looking for a reputable breeder in New Jersey or surrounding areas; my previous breeder used was in Kansas and I had all sorts of problems; any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

| ![]() I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t really help with the breeder though.

| ![]() A reputable breeder won’t breed mixed breeds.

| ![]() Just curious... what is going rate for a purebred Yorkie these days, from AKC-registered parents? (OK, truth be told, I'm having "baby fever" and am hoping that sticker shock will dissuade me...) |

| ![]() Usually between $1,000-$2500. I only paid full price for Callie all my others were pups no one wanted anymore so I got them much much cheaper.

| ![]() Pricing depends on where a puppy is purchased from, the reputation of the breeder and what the breeder is breeding for. A reputable breeder breeds to better the breed keeping their litter in the standard not to exceed 7 pounds. You can expect to pay $1800. to $2500. Then you have the non-reputable breeder that breeds for tiny litters, the smaller the dog, the higher the price tag $3000. to $3500. If you are shopping for a standard size yorkie think more in the $2500. range.
