| Yearly blood work Does anyone else get stressed out when it’s time for yearly blood work? Joey is a very healthy 3 year old and gets his yearly blood work today and I’m just kinda tense about it. The waiting for the results is killer.

| Is the wait long? Here they give us the results pretty fast, you don't really have time to wait and worry. Joey will be fine!!!! Just think that dogs can sense our emotions and you don't want to stress your baby out too by worrying too much. |

| Tibbe is now 11 1/2 so I have these last 2 years but thankfully, his latest last week showed he was healthy. Hope you get good news soon!

| So what are you looking for in the yearly bloodwork you give him? Worms, heart worm what else?

| 5-7 days. They only do it in house if they are sick. It costs less to send it out and is said to be slightly more accurate. With four if something is still good but a little cheaper I go that way.

| Tick illness, complete blood cell count, and a blood Chemistry Profile which checks organ function (liver, kidneys and so on), electrolytes, blood sugar, screening for presence of an endocrine disorder, etc. yearly blood work is very important to check those things to catch any illnesses early and to have a base line to compair it to if they get sick. Do you not do yearly blood work?

| Callie will be 12 in May so I always hold my breath when it’s time for hers. She normally ends up getting blood work twice a year, regular panel once and a senior panel once it just depends on how she is doing.

Soon he's going to have to have his dental; at his age and with early CT, though his vet says its so mild it shouldn't affect him terribly with intubation and leaving him for his dental, is harder every year. And he whines from effects of anesthesia, after coming home, for up to 6 hrs., always has, and it worries me silly. He's been vetted for that and vet swears he's not suffering - says it's just the way he reacts to the effects of the anesthesia. Awful! I hate dental day!

Angry? Sounds better somehow than Tibbe's pitiful whining but still, when it's not normal I know you hate it. Poor Yorkies with their yearly dentals.
