I have to assume bad experiences in his past created fear of crates. | That’s what I mean by most dogs but generally all puppies can learn to be crate trained. Sammy would not get in a crate and he was a rescue so we don’t know if something bad happened to him or not. He would be ok at the groomers but he would be put with Callie and I don’t use groomers with cage dryers. I don’t know what I would do if Callie had not been crate trained due to all the surgery’s she has had that required over night stays at the orthopedic surgeon or the several times she’s had to stay the vet for most of the day for specific testing. I think when possible and for all puppies they need to be crate trained and know how to deal with the crate. I have shadowed at my vets office when there was a dog not crate trained/ not used to a crate and it was not pretty. |
