As each new "baby" joined the pack, they were confined to an x-pen within that space, but separated from the others. That confinement usually lasted until 6-8 months (after their neuter).
Our poodle, Beau, is a crotchety old man, and would occasionally growl under his breath when our rambunctious Gus would come up to him and want to play. Gus gets right into our faces to offer kisses...to humans and furry ones alike...and Beau does not always appreciate it. Gus remained in his pen when we left the house for long periods until he was just over two. He did not protest being separated, and we felt safer. I am happy to say that they all do well together now, and frequently stay snuggled together in a bed by the garage door waiting for us when we are away. :) |
