I would have had one years a go, if I didn't wait for the one to steal my heart. It was really hard looking at all the furbabies I looked at. I wanted them all. But the day I saw Princess, I knew she was the one. Good for you!

It's only chin deep because he's so fat and breaks through packed snow to solid ground. He's going on a diet, starting with that food bowl.

I know a lot of us got our puppies at 8 weeks and had no problems at all.

I think the things you need to consider before you take an 8-week old home are -- it's size and is it a good little eater. If the puppy isn't a "tiny" little thing and has a good appetite, it will probably do very well. Otherwise, it should stay a little longer with its mother.
