Cross-Post—- Need Guinness Back I got a call today from the Cumberland Co. Animal Shelter in Crossville, TN. They have Guinness McLovin and called me because of his microchip. Due to my children at the time, I had to rehome him. I was very very careful and a friends’ dad, who is a trucker and fellow Yorkie Dad, picked him up along with all his belongings, baby book, clothes, blanket... and off he went to South Carolina. I got photos of him and lost touch. My kids are teenager now... I talked to the shelter and they were very unhelpful. Guinness looks like he has been on his own awhile. His eye looks damaged and he has no collar or tags. I started bawling. I contacted Home Again and am still registered as his owner. I want him home. I owe him that. I wish I could go back. Has anyone here been through this? The Travel Reimbursement Supervisor will be in on Monday and my file has been marked urgent. Dena |
Please go get your baby. So sorry you and Guinness have to go thru this. Both of you will be in my prayers |
I live in Austin, TX |
I hope that Guinness finds his way home to you! |
Deenie please let us all know what happens. I guess the drive is to far for you to take and pick her up in person. I know there are rescue groups that do pick up pups maybe you can contact one of these rescue groups... |
Oh my gosh!!! You've got to get your poor baby back! I wonder what happened to him. I'm so sad that he somehow ended up in a shelter but am glad that the chip is still in your name. In the past, people on YT would do "Yorkie Trains" - and someone would pick up the kiddo on one end, drive 2-3hrs or whatever, and meet up with another YT person - and that person would drive to another YT person - until finally the kiddo got to the destination. Please keep us posted! |
Oh my goodness that poor baby. I hope you can find away to get him. |
Paws crossed and prayers in action. --KatysMom |
So sad he ended up in a shelter... Hope you find a way to bring him home as soon as possible! Keep us updated. |
Personally, I would of been in my car and on the road as we were talking on the phone. |
Unbelievable what this poor lil dog has gone through. I too would have been in my car heading to get him, but that is me. Hope you can get this lil guy back and give him the life he deserves. Please keep us posted. |

Any update? |
Crossville Tn. is close to middle Tn. From Texas probably a two day trip. So sorry for this pup. Please make arrangements ASAP. |
Not good news, I just got off the phone with the Cumberland Animal Shelter to see about Guinness. I was told he was a schnauzer and Yorkie mix and that he quite eating and drinking and could not walk and they had to euthanize him. |
RIP Guinness. |

I am so sorry to hear about this tragic outcome...RIP Guiness. Thank you, yorkiemini, for attempting to help him! |
OMgoodness, how very sad, poor lil baby put down with no loving arms to comfort him, just too sad. Thank you yorkiemini for this update as sad as it is. |
Oh my! There are no words. I feel so very bad for the baby & family. Was Guinness a mix. Thought from the post a pure Yorkie. What in the world went so terribly wrong with this little Angel 😇 RIP precious little baby. Wish I could have been there to hold you and help you cross rainbow bridge. I’m crying as I write this. So, so sad. |

How sad.. RIP Guinness. Yorkiemini you are a wonderful soul for trying to help. |
The story/life of poor Guinness just truly breaks my heart. I see the tragedy of surrendered animals all the time at the shelter where I volunteer - one's heart breaks for each and every one of them, seeing them forced to endure the situation they're in...helpless and so vulnerable. This is why I think it's *so* very important that when anyone decides to take a pet into their care, it should be done with the commitment and understanding that it's for life. |

So very sad. When Deenie tried to rehouse responsibly and it didn’t go well. If it had been me, I’d be extremely upset. I’d feel guilty, even if I knew I hadn’t done anything other than the best I could. I’d be second guessing myself, regretting my decisions, and not sleeping at night. Hugs, Deenie. Many, many hugs. |
