Are you obsessed with your yorkie?
 

Have you ever been told that you are obsessed with your yorkie? A so called friend of mine says I am. I asked her if she had ever had a dog to love. She sayed "yes but I never treat it like you do Kaytlyn". I told her that no matter what kind of mood I am in or what kind of day I am having Kaytlyn has my back. If I am sad she knows it and tries to make me feel better and if I am happy she is all excited. I tried to explain to her that one of the big yorkie kisses takes all the bad stuff away. I truly think she is jealous. She dosnt have all the slobber to wake her up every morning. All the love that Kaytlyn gives. She doesnt get to get excited when I see a new outfit that Kaytlyn just has to have cuz she would look soooo cute in it. And most of all she doesn't get the yorkie kisses that make everything, no matter what is going on, so much better. So I was just wondering that if buying to much clothes or making sure that Kaytlyn is happy and healthy makes me obsessed then I guess I am. Just wondering if anybody else is obsessed too?

Oh yes, my mother tells me this all the time.. However, this comes form a woman who also makes her Rat Terriers (2) eggs every Sunday!! She is obsessed also... :)

Yes...Since the first WEEK I got Chanel I changed my whole way of doing things to revolve around her....Then getting Cheri - same thing and I STILL always have them formost in my mind - whether I'm home or out ....It's amazing because I've never been 'obsessed' with any of the pets I had until I got The Yorklett Girls

Ask my husband!! He'll give you a resounding YES!!!! So will my daughter!! :D

Since it is just the two of us, I think we have created a bond that was never there
when our doggies were running around when my children were little but it's also her
dang cute personality. I love her with my whole heart but the humans in my life
still are the most important....she is a very close second and I don't think I am
obsessed and probably the only one on this thread to say that.

I am very obsessed with my little guy......ask anyone that knows me! I know people think I am crazy, but until they have a Yorkie, they will not understand. In my family (all sides) we do things for each other (gift baskets for each holiday, little "I'm thinking of you" gifts, etc)...they have now since included Mojo in on these! - They're coming around.

To me, it's not just the clothing, toys, treats, time I spend with him....it's thinking about him when I have to leave him, changing plans to include him, and making sure he is more comfortable than me!

My husband knows (heaven forbid) that if anything happens to this little guy, that I would more than likely go insane and need to be put in a mental hospital......that is just how strong of a bound we get with our furbabies, right?!

im obsessed with a puppy I dont even have yet lol I think thats worse. I have a bed toys and clothes for a puppy I haven't even got yet. I guess I will be ready when time comes though lol.

I really did not think I would be obsessed with Lucy when we got her. She was supposed to be my husbands dog. She was a rescue and so scared and skinny, that how could you not want to pamper and spoil her? I tell myself that I am not obsessed with her, but I could be wrong. I do know that she is obsessed with me, or at the very least possesive of me. Where ever I am, she is there. She protects me from my big German Shepherd, which is too funny. She growls at him and he just ignores her. Even the cats have decided she is all bluff.
She is no longer a scared and skinny girl. She has confidence now, and that is a wonderful thing.

I'm always obsessed about any new pet I get.

As far as my Yorkie goes -- I have been told by the whole family and most of my friends that I need to get a life and talk about something other than my Yorkie constantly...... I'm sure I have been driving everyone crazy! And, YES, they all love my new little pup. They just don't want to hear about everytime he poops, jumps off the davenport, eats something new, looks so cute in a new outfit, pee's on the carpet, etc. etc. etc.

I know when my sister got her new lab pup - that's all I heard about for two months......ugh! So, I know what they mean!

I'm working on it ! And - I am getting better.

yes I love my lil guy so much. My whole family says its just not natural. I've been told that I have obsessive traits. They think I'm on yt to much and all I care about are things that don't matter. I personally think they are the ones with a problem. I love my baby and he happens to be my best friend. I will do whatever it takes to make him happy. I don't understand why people even care . I'm happy and my human children are happy and my furbabies are happy so tell me exactly what the problem is. I'm just glad I have yt with people that knows what I'm talking about. I've never bonded with a pet like I have my yorkie.

My family knows how important my relationship with my Yorkie is, and dont say anything. But Ive had arguments with men who told me I was crazy or how unnatural my relationship with my dog was. Lets just say I never saw them again :D

Everyone in my family says I'm obsessed with Gracie! But on the other hand, my therapist says she thinks that having Gracie is a positive thing, so... Let's just say I'm content in my obsession. :D

Have you hard that term,,, Obsessed much? My husband is always telling me that. I just turned to him and asked him if I was obsessed,,, he just laughed. He did say he gave me alot of credit yesterday. We went to a birthday party at Chucky E Cheese and I was debating if I should take him or not. I was about to get him ready but I thought,, poor Gus is going to go crazy being locked up in his bag with all those kids running around. So I thought it was best to leave him behind. We were there for quite a while and I was ok for a while,,,,, but couldn't take it. All I wanted to do is come home to him. He was so excited he didn't know what to do. He ran in circles crying and jumping up for me to pick him up. It's funny because when it comes to me and Gus we are both obsessed with eachother big time!!!!

Well thank goodness my husband and son are both obsessed with our girls too so its not only me. All three of us place the girls upfront :) They mean the world to us and its nice to know that we are all on the same wavelength regarding our princesses :p

Did anyone explain the concept of YT to the OP? We're all obsessed, we come here to avoid the strange looks we get from people that don't get it.

Sometimes I think it would be best if all YTers moved to one area. No one here understands me!

I know we're crazy about our little pets and love them to pieces.

But - I think our problem is expecting everyone else to feel the same way. I guarantee no one wants to hear me talk about my puppy constantly.

Put yourself in their shoes - I work with two young mothers who talk every minute of every day about their two toddlers. They talk about food, peeing, poop, toys, sleeping, learning, and every cute little thing their two children have ever done in their whole life. I am not exaggerating when I say they talk about these things from the minute they get to work until they go home.

Another three of us are older and have already raised our children. We love children and like hearing about the cute things they do -- but we are really ready to throw up and tired and bored with the totally nonstop talk about these two (no doubt delightful) little children. We don't say anything - but wish they might talk about anything else once in a while.

So - when I start yapping about my Yorkie, I need to remember to enjoy him, love him, and be obsessed with him all I want -- but not drive other people crazy with him.

I am soooooo obsessed with my yorkie! Isnt it fun being obsessed with them? I think its the best way to spend my day :p

Obsessed? What in the heck are you talking about? Obsessed? Okay, here's the deal. My kids have to wait til I do whatever for the babies before I can do something. My grandchildren have to be dragged in the front door cause "Rini will make us sit and hold the dogs!". A vacation? well, plan it only if a Yorkie mom is not preggers, a new litter of puppies are not on the ground, a baby is not sick and heaven forbid, if mom has to make a vet visit or any number of other Yorkie-things.
Getting the stuff ready for 10 Yorkies to go for a few days to my friend's boarding palace takes 2 whole days. Used to be I was up half the night only the night I was actually packing my bags for a trip. NOW, 2 nights for the baby things and that starts 3 nights before the plane leaves the terminal. Then, the worrying and wondering when I get away. Calls to make sure they are alright. Even if we are just at a ballgame, I call and talk to them on the answering machine. Bet y'all don't do that, right??LOL
I have to constantly remind my skinkids that I was a nurse when I was raising them and I didn't need to take them to the doctor all the time. I knew how to make them well. But, these little guys really NEED a specialist aka-vet.
Obsessed? Nah!!!!! Never! Not in your lifetime!!! Well, maybe just a little, teensy bit.. Nope, not at all! If I were Pinocchio, my nose would be poking thru the puter monitor screen right now!

Yes, I am obsessed but my family and my friends love seeing me this happy. Shelby is such a sweetie that everyone adores her, asks about her and wants picture updates. My husbands family treat pets like family members and Shelby is the new baby in the family :p Oh, a group of friends even gave me a baby shower. My husband and adult age sons think they love her as much as I do. not possible.

My own brothers don't appreciate her quite as much but I sort of "let them have it" when they were making fun of me one day. Let's just say they don't do that anymore.

At my stage in life it's love me, love my baby. Want to see me? Guess who is coming?

People tell me that I am obsessed with my friend's yorkie that I watch sometimes. Well...what can I say? I don't have a yorkie on my own just yet... Well.. but now I am getting obsessed to my future pup... who is not born yet :D

According to my "dear" family, yes...I am obsessed. At times, my son and daughter have acted jealous about it too.

How can you not get obsessed with your yorkie!!??!! Ever since we brought Starsky home he has been our little baby. I can't wait to see him after work. I hate leaving him when I have to go. It always runs in my mind, could I take him there?? Even my husband who has never been a dog lover is nuts about Starsky. You should hear the ga ga talk he does to him. I can't sleep unless Starsky is in bed with me. Like everybody else, I would just go nuts if I ever lost him. (Which is really sad they don't live as long as we do :( ) I can totally understand how upset someone is when they loose their little furbaby.

I'm lucky most people like my dog here but do you think I would expect
them TO HAVE to like her to come visit. Heavens that would cut me
out of getting to know so many people and they always warm up alittle.
Also there only a few people I actually talk about Crystal to since they
have no dog, why would they be that interested. Beware if they ask
though. They say there is a 10 minute limit for someone visiting a sick
person because they get tired of hearing about their illness ( not family
of course) but maybe even a few of them....so if people can't listen to
that then you know what they are thinking sorta like your office.
Breeders are different...that is their life!!

ummm, yeah, I'm obsessed. My husband says its because my kids are teenagers now and I need something small and cuddly to nurture. He's probably right. The yorkies are only too happy to oblige my nurturing. That's what makes them great dogs!! As far as talking about them, my New year's resolution was to not talk about them as much at work (it's killin' me, people!) because I know most people really don't care. I just come to YT to talk about them...and try to be "relevant" at work...LOL

We can't think of anything better to be obsessed with. We are already with Baby Blessing. She couldn't have a more fitting name. I can recall all the wonderful years with Cassie, she could help Jack get through the roughest of days and when they were the roughest for him she would kiss away my tears.
She wasn't herself Nov. 4th. Jack had a very important Dr. apointment, I felt it best not to take her with us that late afternoon, I called home twice from our cell phone and talked to her on the answer machine, even called our daughter in Alaska to call and talk to her on answering machine, those messages still remain on the machine. I can not erase them. Oh yes we were very much obsessed with her and we wouldn't have had it any other way. Friends use to say how lucky she was and our reply was "we were the lucky ones to have her." Our :littleang Cassie forever in our :love:'s
