| grooming video With all the grooming issues popping up at places I though some of yall might be interest in a grooming video I found on groupon https://www.groupon.com/deals/gs-dog...-how-to-videos. I love my groomer but I ordered one to try and learn encase anything happens or she stops grooming.

| We also like our groomer but I need to learn how just to save the money. We take them every 8-10 weeks at $110 a visit (for both). It adds up.

| $20 bucks isn't bad for a video but there are a lot of free how to guides on youtube as well.

| This one is supposed to tell you all the tools needed and stuff. I just trust the DVD more then a free video but that's just me.

| I love my mobile groomer sooo much. If she ever retires I'm going to force her to give me lessons -LOL... I won't take him anywhere else. He's nervous enough as it is and we've been seeing her for geez like over 7 years now. I don't think I'd put him through the anxiety of finding someone new. I really need to learn.

| I use a mobile groomer as well and it’s such a blessing . I got some clippers and blades when I had Troy. After you get your pup professionally groomed , try to keep up the cut at bath time so it’s not a full groom while you’re learning . That’s how I got comfortable. It’ll be fun while you learn and good bonding with the pup.

| Heck yeah!!! It is harder than it looks; I mean, Piper tries to stay still, but she then she'll turn her head...Geez, I get nervous during the couple times I merely attempted a little trim to Piper's chin. I gotta find me somebody around here....!!! |

| The main key is to take it slow. I haven't watched any professional DVDs, but from my experience, I found this worked: Get the pup used to the buzzing noise when the trimmer is on (near the pup but not on the pup) > then get pup used to the vibration somewhere on the body (touch pup on their back with the vibrating handle, not the shears) > gradually increase the time of the vibrating handle on their body, then along their body > then start small and actually use it to trim a very small part of the body ... gradually over several days and several sessions, with lots of treats. This is how I went about getting my two used to the trimmer for just their ears and paws. As soon as they freak out, I stopped. When they accepted it, I give lots of treats and say good boy good girl. Because I'm growing out their coat, I use scissors for the body. But it's still the same - take it slow, lots of treats, and of course them knowing the "stay" command comes in handy.

| All I used was a pair of grooming scissors and I just did a little snip here and there over the course of several days; not something I enjoyed. But lil' Pipe can be such a honey, I'd tell her to 'hold it' and she'd stay very still for the couple seconds I needed. |

| Some years ago I purchased the Kirsten McGregor grooming DVD. IT IS GREAT. she shows her digs but part if her videos are about daily care. Funny story - one year a friend if mine had several dogs at a show and the handler did not show up, so she asked me to show her little guy. I was so nervous, then got ready to go into the ring and who did I see next to me but Kristen MC Gregor I tried not to pass out and just did my thing as best I could - the judge was so nice- we got a second place but guess who got first!

| Now how awesome is that?! Were you more or less nervous once getting into the ring...and then seeing Kirsten M? Last edited by Jkpal; 02-10-2018 at 12:24 PM. Reason: spelling |

More nervous. She has shown a ton of dogs to championships and I had never been in the ring before so did not know what I was doing. She was very gracious.
