I've been getting requests from my hubby and mom to cut my babies' long hair because they can't stand the hard work when they help me out sometimes to walk them. Haha...I can spend a whole hour picking out dead leaves and debris if I let my two outside without tying up their hair!

Despite their long hair, when I tie it up, I get to admire their wiggling butts when they walk too! :D Casie seems to wiggle more because her legs are shorter. It's too cute!

Wow it grew right back in a year? I think it took quite a bit longer for Scottie's coat. Is there some kind of secret hair growing recipe? :rolleyes:

When I cut Scottie's baby hair / pony tail on his head, I had so much regret. I can't imagine how I'd feel cutting all his hair! I'm sure I'd also be in tears for sure.

Follow up on Ruger's hair cute. Ugh‼️ The groomer really sucked. I took a picture in for her to get the idea of what I wanted. It was really a simple cut, short on his back and long on legs. Kinda like a cocker spaniel. OMG, now he has a chopped up back with nothing done to his skirt, legs, belly, chest. His back looks as if the groomer picked up his hair took the scissors and chopped, chopped, chopped.
Needless to say I called her & told her my husband & I don't like it. Now, I was really nice about it. Found out the owner was letting another girl groom him the last two times he was groomed. (Didn't like 1st time either). I thought I was booking the owner to groom. So when I called about the alful job, I requested her to groom. So wish us luck this Tuesday.

Your babies are simply gorgeous. We will be spending some time in Florida, so I thought Ruger would feel better with short hair. I've been really stressed about this.

Perhaps just a little skillful finish work with the shaver will do the trick to even out the back. I do my own grooming but within two months Deuce needs to be shaved again. Here's a few pics of the style I use on him. I usually use a #7 blade on his neck,back and chest and scissor trim his legs, head and tail during cooler months. The picture with him in front of the rubber tree is a shorter cut. I used a #10 blade on the clippers for his back, neck and chest and a #7 on his legs then scissor trim. I do keep his belly short with a combination of careful shaving and scissors. The ticks were brutal this summer so although I hated to cut his leg hair I had to do it so I can keep an eye on things. It will grow back in no time. I end up trimming him every two months. I leave his tail fluffy but most seem to shave it. Hope this helps in finding the right "hair-do" for your baby.

WOWSERS! You are very skilled with those clippers. Deuce looks phenomenal!

What an adorable baby he is. Yes, I love those cuts. That's what I was wanting with Ruger. I took a picture to show them, OMG you should have seen it. Most terrible cut any of my past Yorkies. Wish I could use you. Thanks a bunch for the reply.

I love cutting hair. When I was a kid all my dolls eventually had crew cuts.:D

Well, they will still look super cute. The good thing is that if you do not like them with the short trim, you can always grow the hair as before :)
So go ahead and do some change.
One tip from me - do no cut it real real short (like almost to the skin).
From my experience I can say that after trimming short and then growing the hair again, it makes it even softer and prettier.

Fantastic cuts, it's wonderful you do your own grooming, so much less stress on the babies when momma does it, and you get the style you want. Deuce is such a beautiful baby.

Love the hairdo! Deuce is super cute!! I think I would also do something similar if I cut my babies' hair one day. I think it's the best to groom them yourself too! It's great for bonding. :)

Aww.. don't be too stressed out. Hope they do a better job second time around! Worse worse case, you can throw on a sweater for Ruger since it's getting chilly these days and no one would notice. ;)

Huey has had long hair for all 8 years of his life. A few weeks ago we had an accident on vacation where he got into sand burrs and we had no choice but to cut them out. He was so choppy and weird looking that we buzzed him. Bath time is 1000% better now! He acted very timid and pitiful at first but now seems very happy. I love it because I can put his harness or shirts on him without tangling.
