It May Be a Morkie! This looks like my adopted dog which is yorkie and maltese. We love him so much!!!! Because he is a mixed breed, the vet thinks he is a litter tougher health wise than a pure breed. |

I guess I've just been in the mood lately of arguing. Lol. Sorry everyone. But seriously though, that's a huge topic that probably deserves its own thread. I imagine it's been discussed before. I have purebred dogs and health was a huge concern because I know people who have had to go to specialty clinics. And not only is it a huge thing in terms of money, but emotionally with a sick dog is very difficult. All breeders definitely should breed for health. That I think should really be a top concern. |

My own personal experience, over the years I have had Poodles, mini Schbauzers, then 4 yorkies, all very healthy until they reached their senior years. My last yorkie was 17 years old when she went to Rainbow bridge. As a kid I always heard that mutts (today known as designer dogs) were healthier then pure breed dogs. I believe that to be a myth. But, that is just my opinion. |
