Introducing....... Penny! 4 Attachment(s) I would like to introduce Penny Ann! Never did I think I would have 3 yorkies but here I am lol. So I consider Penny a rescue. She had been a Christmas present for a 12 year old girl and obviously she lost interest and the family didn't want to keep her. She is 8 months old. When I got her and brought her home I gave her a bath because she was dirty and when I went to clean her very dirty ears black stuff was coming out. We got a vet appointment for the next day. Well pretty quickly after having her home we noticed she was peeing no joke every 10 minutes. When we went to the vet we decided to have urine, blood and fecal tested. They sent the fecal and blood out but did the urine in house. There were A LOT of crystals in her urine so they put her on an antibiotic and recheck in two weeks. The only time she went to a vet was in December for her rabies shot. How the old owners did not know she was peeing so much is beyond me. They didn't even say goodbye to her. I thought this would work well because Callie turns 10 next month and can't keep up with 1 year old Joey. Penny and Joey are having a blast. She picked her name...... no joke. We were going through all the names we could think about and my mom said Penny and her ears went up and she started licking my whole face so we went with Penny. She comes to it and everything. I'm pretty sure she came from a puppy mill because I checked the website out that was on her puppy papers and they have at least 8 different types of dogs. I got her signed up for pet insurance the other night. She has one ear up and one down. She is 9 pounds which is one pound lighter then Joey so they are very close to the same size. She eats like she was starved. After the urine thing clears up I will be getting her spayed. |

So I think it would make a dog go more often? I would get her thoroughly tested to see if she had any underlying issues-- but I assume that's what those tests are for. I hope she's fine though. |
Sunny has (had) bladder stones as well (apparently it's common with yorkies). They make special diets for dogs that have this, and there are certain foods they can/can not eat. He also takes calcium tablets. We get his Ph levels checked every 6 months and the vet x-rays to see if new stones are forming. Aside from that, it is very manageable. A proper diet & maintenance is key; also monitoring when/how often they pee, which will catch it before too many crystals form. Good luck with her! |
Taylor she is just precious, she is a rescue for sure, Penny is so lucky you found her, she's going to be one lil Diva lol. She couldn't be in better hands. You are going to have a blast with these two babies. Enjoy. |

Penny is the most precious, luckiest pup in the world; we know our little ones dream (all that twitching, yips, etc)...and I'm sure in Penny's case her dream came true because of you!!! Can't wait to hear about all the antics as Penny recovers her good health--How fun to have your hands (and arms) full!!! Big smooches all around!!! |

You know, I actually got incited/inspired?(not sure if that's the word I am looking for) to adopt a dog instead after seeing your beautiful pooches. I remember looking in your album, especially the 2014 one. I recall you or someone saying(on a different note) that yorkies bred to the standard have the ears pointed upwards but yours looks precious. I don't think I care too much about standards unless we're talking about health. It's why I think I don't mind going with a mutt. I just saw this yorkie x chihuahua cross and it's a male but he looks soo precious that I might just want to try my luck getting him. But knowing that there are beautiful dogs like these with so much to give makes me stop caring about that one incident and try again. At least now if it happens we'd be better prepared with more knowledge and a group of people who can better advice me than what I was advised/equipped with back then. I hope I can find a dog that loves me as much as those dogs love you. But I hope even more that your dogs remain healthy, happy, and live a long life. |
She's so cute. I never thought I'd have 3 either. But they really aren't that much more work than just the two. Hope she's feeling better soon. |
Penny is darling! She certainly lucked out finding you  |
