She got groomed today she and she looks a lot like Callie but smaller. I will try to get a picture up of her tomorrow.

Callie now has her own Mini-Me. :D;):) Congratulations Taylor on the new addition. Penny is adorable and I am very happy to hear that she is fitting in so nicely. Callie will stay warm with a snuggler on each side of her. :)

Dogs can have diabetes and require glucose testing and insulin injections just like humans. My brother lost his Cocker Spaniel to diabetes last year. :( There have been a few members on Yorkie Talk whose Yorkies had/have diabetes.

Increased thirst and urination are common symptoms of lots of ailments, many which are minor and easily treatable compared to diabetes.

Yeah, diabetes really sucks... It's very limiting (on both humans and animals).... Type 1 being the suckiest is there only one type for dogs or 2?

I'm surprised that Type 1 is the most common in dogs. According to PetMD:

"The most common form of the disease in dogs is Type 1, insulin-dependent diabetes, which occurs when the pancreas is incapable of producing or secreting adequate levels of insulin. Dogs who have Type I require insulin therapy to survive."

Isn't that the more painful one? Not sure.

Yes it is, unfortunately. There's no cure for type 1 (in people, at least).
Type 2 is the one often seen in people who eat unhealthy/are overweight.

Type 2 I believe is also hereditary... or more like a hereditary susceptible. Some people and possibly animals cannot escape from their genes.
