| ![]() I am excited. It is a male, 10 weeks old Yorkie. I pick him up at the airport at 9pm. I think it is gonna be a sleepless night for me. I now have a Yorkie, male, that is 16 months old and I love him to pieces. I am just a little bit nervous as to how my Yorkie will take to my new baby. I know it will be okay within 30 days or so. I have his crate ready with food, toys, nice bedding, and he will get lots of love from me as does my present yorkie. Two awesome Yorkies will now grace my humble abode. I can't wait! ![]() |

| ![]() Ya, I will eventually post pics of both my Yorkies together hopefully. Right now I am working on what name to give him. My first Yorkie I named "Mr Bean O" or Beano for short and it somehow really fits him. And no, he does not have frequent gas releases lol. I have some names in mind for my new Yorkie but can only solidify the name when I finally have him in my physical presence. |

| ![]() Congratulations! My Yorkie boy was 14 months old when I got him, and then I got a Yorkie girl as a friend for him three months later, when both Yorkies were 17 months old. They became inseparable friends immediately and still are very bonded. A 10-week old puppy 'playmate' will present certain challenges due to the young age of the puppy, it's needs for supervision, care, training, and protection...since it is a baby, but they could quite possibly become very good friends within a short time, too.

| ![]() Yah, I have been reading n reading and getting all these tips plus other tips together for this big event. I think I am ready.. but is my present Yorkie ready ?? lol. Yesterday I spent the day getting the right supplies (new crait, water bottles, feeds, toys etc). All is ready for my new baby. I think my present Yorkie senses something though. So now (it is 6 am here in Mass) I wait for the go time to go get him. |

| ![]() I get mine next Sunday (though he is a mix). Ours are just 2 weeks apart in age, so I will be interested to hear how it goes for you. I just bought toys for my other dogs, so hopefully they handle a new sibling like it is fun! Good luck tonight! |

| ![]() Well the big day has finally arrived, you must be ecstatic. Your older baby may not take to the bouncing baby with teeth like a shark right off the bat. 1-puppies do not smell like a "dog" they have a baby smell to them, this usually scares the one time "only child" 2-puppies bouncing in older dogs face is not a pleasant experience for your older baby. Your older baby will need a "safe haven" away from this zooming fluff ball. My girls always stayed on the sofa "high grounds" when a new kid came home. Your older baby will do just fine once he gets adjusted to "this kid is NOT leaving". Do NOT force your older one on the new kid, let him check out this ball of energy on his time, his terms. You will soon see your older one spending more time on the ground, sniffing the baby, and soon they will be romping and wrestling, and will be BFF. I am soooo excited for you, you will have much fun and laughter with two precious babies.

| ![]() I picked up Mr Milo last night at the airport in NH. He was in a plastic crate with lots of air holes. He even had both food and water in dishes that were intact. I am impressed with United Airlines for doing such a good job. Brought him home. For a short time I have him in a pen of about 8' square with his crate in the middle. Plenty of pee pads around. He has his toys. He seems to be quite perky and happy. He only weighs 2 lbs as opposed to my 15.7 lbs resident Yorkie. My resident Yorkie (Mr Bean O) stayed away from him (normal) and of course kept looking at me as if to say "Daddy, what is this?" lol. So bed time for all of us at 10.00 pm. Mr BeanO on my bed and Mr Milo in his crate close to my bed (I don't want him to feel alone or isolated). No noise from Mr Milo all night. Alarm woke me from a good sleep at 4:30 am (my usual up time). First night actually was very good. I was sort of anxious over the first night but both Yorkies and I had a good nights sleep-no barking, no whining, no snoring. lol Now next day (day 2). This morning so far: I changed water and food for Mr Milo and put him in his pen. He ate and drank well. He had normal poop n pee. Mr BeanO now is getting closer to the pen and nose to nose with Mr Milo but quick to jump back when Mr Milo makes a move. So this is first small important step (progress) that has been made. I will take photos sometime this week. I think I will dedicate my Lumia 950xl phone to just taking photos of my Yorkies. I have around 300+ plus photos I have taken of Mr BeanO since day one and will also do same now with my new Yorkie Mr Milo. I am estatic at this point. Today will be interesting how it goes with the two of them. Of course I must first make an appointment with my vet to get Mr Milo's initial checkout. I will try to enter more info towards the end of the day of this blessed day. Last edited by Milosopher; 10-24-2016 at 03:10 AM. |

| ![]() Glad all went well. YES, it is very important to get that Vet appointment made for a Health Check Up, most people don't understand that is very important when getting a new baby. It should be done within 2-3 day's of arriving.

| ![]() How exciting!!! Thanks for your updates! And huge congrats to you!! ![]() I still remember a little under a year ago when I brought home my baby girl and was super anxious about how my Scottie would react around her. Of course, he hated her at first and was very jealous. But they're grown to accept each other now and like each other most of the time. Look forward to hearing more!
