I agree get that this thread is most interesting |
Oh dear this story does not have a happy ending. I still had heard no further word from the lady last night, so this morning I sent another e mail asking her rto phone me ( and included my phone number once again). She knows all my phone calls are diverted to my mobile phone so it doesn't matter where I am , I never miss a call. Apart from taking Jack out for his usual three walks I have stayed around the house all day, but sadly no communication from her. I'm glad I just didn't turn up at her house with Jack. It's obvious she has changed her mind about the whole idea, or maybe she sold her dog to someone else. Iexpect I shall never know, but I feel it would have been polite to contact me as she is the one who asked me to visit her today. Never mind, it obviously wasn't meant to be, and being philosophical it has turned out for the best. Now I shall still look for another Yorkie, and if it happens it happens. I can't buy a puppy because we are probably too old, so am still searching for a slightly older dog. Thankyou all for your lovely comments, and I shall keep you posted! Pauline and Jack. |
OP sorry it didn't work out for you. You seem to be very interested in this process. As for me I'd be very leary of the arraignment. There are so many things that could go wrong and I myself would never enter into this sort of co parenting situatino but if you do have that chance of following through with your plan lay down the ground rules first. |
I live by the saying "everything happens for a reason" This dog sharing was not meant to be, you WILL find that perfect companion for Jack. I am so sorry you were let down and YES, that lady should have contacted you with an explanation. Brighten up, there IS a baby out there waiting just for you.(((HUGS))) |
It sounds like a good idea in theory. She wouldn't have to sell her dog and you have a friend for your little one. But what happens if someone moves away? Or if something changes in the future and she has more time to devote to him? I'm sure both of you would be attached and someone could end up with a broken heart. |
No more dog share ideas for me! Thank you everyone for sharing your ideas and thoughts. I have completely gone off the idea. Too many potential problems. Still looking. You are right, somewhere is the right dog waiting for a home. There are Yorkies around but so far away , it isn't feasible to pursue them. Much better to be sole owner though, I agree. There is actually a website called borrow my dog I think. Will keep in touch Pauline and Jack |
Good and please keep us posted. |
Too old for a Yorkie? Nonsense! These little goofballs keep us upbeat, energized and are the best anti-aging medicine everrrr! You made the right decision (lady sounds a bit of a flake) and now your heart and home are open to your perfect little canine when he/she comes along---and it will happen!!! |
