I've had only boys, and talk about Momma's boys! My male at this moment is snuggled so close to me I can't move! Always by my side. If I'm up stairs so is he. If I'm down stairs so is he. If someone picks him up he looks straight at me, eyes as big as saucers. He's so concerned they will take him out of my sight. He's not really needy plays with his toys but always knows where I'm at. I just love him to pieces. |
My boys have always been more loving than my females. I read on here that girls love you but boys are in love with you. |

Both of my yorkies have been female and both incredibly affectionate. |
I can't compare as Buddybear is my only Yorkie and I've never had another. I think he tries to share himself equally between my dh and myself. Some one once said if you want a dog to be attached to you get the opposite sex that you are but I don't know if that's true. Buddybear will comfort whoever is sick by being by their side almost 25/7. When one of us leaves the house for errands, he constantly goes to the window to look out then does a patrol in the house, will lay down next to whoever is home for a bit then repeat. I've never been so much in love with a "dog" in my life:p |
I've only ever had boys. All extremely affectionate. I've regularly babysat two females for my friends. While friendly they were more independent and aloof. They were affectionate sometimes when they felt like it but not nearly with the same level of affectionnas my boys and my boys are always affectionate 24/7. But who knows, that might just be because the girls weren't MY dogs. I've also heard boys tend to be more attached to the woman of the household and females tend to get more attached to the man. I believe this is true from what I've seen from both mine and my friends' yorkies. |
my lil boy is definitely a little cuddle bug. He snuggles with me all the time. |
