Most horses love to work! It's in their blood. Don't feel bad about it. As long as they are provided with ample rest, water, and proper care (shoes/trims, well fitted equipment, nutritious food, dental care) there is no reason that pulling a buggy or carrying a (properly sized) rider is cruel.
My horse loves work. He's old and retired now. But he used to be a jumper and we were very competitive. He loved it. I swear he breathed it. And he could fly- he brought home a few ribbons! |
