Grazing yorkie
 
So every time I take my yorkies out one of them seems to graze..... He gravitates to the green grass .... He's 1yr 5 mos. He weighs 4 lbs
I have read before that this is not harmful but actually good for them but today he was all about grazing and I read that it may be a lack in fiber? Any thoughts? He eats Simply Nourish Grain Free Small Breed Adult Food
Steamed carrots, chicken breast and grain free Bicen/blueberry grain free meat from pets mart..... Thoughts? Suggestions?

My girl is a grazer, she is 3.5 years old, has always been a grazer. Blows my mind! Doesn't throw up afterwards (I had always thought Before that if a dog ate grass it meant they had to throw up) and t does not seem to effect her stool or her negatively. So I suppose, some dogs are just grass grazers?

My yorkies are grazers also. I have no grass in my backyard right now but when we go to the park, they will lay there and eat the grass. I think it's cute. My boy will aim for the top of the grass and sometimes that grass is tall.☺☺☺

Buddybear is a grazer also. I feed the birds and the seeds they don't eat are sprouting. He tries to get the green leaves through the chain link fence.

Same here guys I thinks it's natural for a dog to eat grass. As long as my dog are okay, there's no worry for me.

These lil cows! He don't seem to be ill afterward and it seems to be a lil pleasure of his! Graze on lil ones!

I too think it's cute! My boy too aims for the higher grass and I enjoy watching him! My girl ....not so interested

What if they eat the grass and then go to town on the soil/dirt? I always worry they'll get sick :(

We do have regular parasite management control but we also have A LOt of grass to choose from, so Lilah does not ever eat dirt. I think that would be a possible indication of a health problem like low iron.

Hmm...I guess if it was my own backyard, it wouldn't be as much of a concern. But I live in a condo so the grass we go to are at local parks etc. And God knows what kind of disgusting stuff/parasites could be lurking around there.

What to do about low iron, if that's the case?

Just be careful, in my development they spray chemicals on the grass.....I think they use trugreen.

I read it's natural just be careful of chemicals etc. Luckily, my fur baby isn't a grazer.

My boy likes to graze a little, he prefers helping me weed. I loosen the weed, he pulls it out with his teeth...super cute! Except that I have to be really sneaky about putting new plants in, because those get pulled right out. :eek:
