What to use for washing potty pads? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to put in machine for washing potty pads? Or how do you wash them? Thanks so much for your help. Getting my little boy in a few weeks. :aimeeyork |
I use detergent, some Borax powder, and a little Odoban. |
Ty Wylie's Mom Thanks very much . Just didn't know if tide is too strong for him. Want to get everything ready just need to buy food next week. Getting excited. :animal36 |
Congratulations on you new pup! It's kind of like having a baby! I know most pads say don't use chorine bleach or fabric softeners, I just use my regular detergent, but I think I'll try some of the Odoban Ann suggested, one of mine has some pretty strong smelling urine. |
Congratulations on your new family member. I use my super duper homemade laundry detergent and 1/2 cup vinegar. I wash 4 or 5 soiled potty pads at a time in my HE washer using the "heavy soiled" setting with an extra rinse. They come out clean and fresh smelling. I always line dry the already almost dry potty pads. If it's raining, I simply throw them over the shower door to finish drying. |
I use Gain and Febreze in laundry odor eliminator. I have to say that these washable pads are the best thing since sliced bread. I just started using them two weeks ago. They are wonderful! |
Thanks everyone. Sorry for all the questions what brand of odoban do you use , didn't know there were many to choose. Thanks everyone get my puppy in 9 days. Thanks very much for all your knowledge. I am getting excited . A lot of things I am sure I will pick up as I go. Planning on sleeping on floor right beside his pen , until we get the potty thing down and he gets used to being in a new home. I don't want him to be scared . Of course during the day he can walk around . Only at night at bedtime he will be in his pen. Again I very much appreciate all your knowledge . Enjoy your angels and long life to all of them. :animal-pa |
I use my homemade detergent, but I really think it helps to put vinegar in the rinse water. Then I line dry. |
I used Listerine mouthwash. I have also used baking soda with detergent and vinegar with detergent. |

I always use plain white vinegar as 'fabric softener' even in my own laundry. It's a chemical reaction where the acid (vinegar) neutralizes the base (detergent) and ensures all the soap is removed from the fabric, so it's 'softer'. Vinegar is also great for removing odours and killing bacteria! |
Washing potty pads. Thanks very much I will get the citrus. I will also try vinegar in wash as well. Does vinegar make clothes soft ummm , I am going to try it. Also I like the fact that it helps getting the soap out of the fabric. :D |
