I didn't see an option to resize with my old version of paint, other than cropping then look and see what kb you have afterwards.... I'll look at photoscape.

I upload my photos on my Mac through iPhoto (or now just called Photos). You can select all photos you want and easily select a 'medium' size for all of them at once, save them anywhere (I do folders by year/month) and then upload them. It is a pain that the forum doesn't resize for you automatically tho. :(

Hey, MarkFromSea, how's our girl doing? How much does that little, tiny Ezzy weigh? Do you think she has Yorkie and/or Maltese in her teeninsy self? Amazing that in all the world you came along at just that moment, then you actually saw that little whitish dot of a dog, and in turn, she made the right decision at the right time and came right to you! One cute, intelligent, and savvy pup--not mention brave and trusting. This is story for the ages--you two were meant to be and (I believe) a higher power ensured that happened...I mean really, it's too impossible that it was just happenstance, but that's only my take. Look forward to pictures resized, upside down, forward or backward! Give Ezzy a couple of smooches from Piper and me!

We haven't taken the boys camping per se, but we do lots of adventuring and walking in the mountains, at lakes, and at the coast, so I always keep baby wipes or doggy wipes in the car for their feet as well as a liquid no rinse shampoo by Chris Christensen that serves as a spot shampoo for their feet - it's called Show Off. :)

She's doing totally awesome! I don't know for sure 100% what she is, although, from photos and physical body descriptions I'm pretty sure she has a good portion of Lhasa Apso in her. I found a reference for her golden eyes, and brown nose at an overseas Asian Lahsa Apso website, AKC doesn't include it as breed standard trait. For her height, she is really long. Maybe she's Maltese. Although Lhasa Apsa also has a reference to good luck... I think she qualified there not getting run over. We're having a bit of a potty training issue now that we're in the house long term, camping out of the van and immediately after that at home she was really good in that department. It's time to take her camping for a week or so again. I tinkered with photoscape a couple hours today, copies disappeared into my hard drive somewhere, it's all a guessing game to get the file size small enough but still have something that is worth opening and looking at... I can do a single photo, produce something the size of a thumbnail.... but what the use is that.... that stinks.. I'm starting with files that average 1.7Mb per photo.... I can get it right, physical size and file size one photo at a time... but that'll be too slow into the future... Batch editing is really a guessing game and hasn't worked at all so far... I'll have to drop the quality selector way down... there is no converter to just convert this 1.7Mb photo files to a set 200kb limit.

For photo resizing, I tried the programs suggested by admin here at YT. One wouldn't download at all... the other was way less than ideal. I tried photoscape and even though it didn't have the option I really wanted to see, a file size selection, it did have thumbnail photos to be able to tell what photo file you were selecting while using batch editor, resizing a bunch of photos at the same time.... Who wants to do just one at a time? Not me! So, photoscape, a free download program, select batch editor tab, on the left select the file your photos are in, select all the photos and drop them in the editor to resize them all at once... don't worry, your originals are still safe... you have to select where these photos will go when resized, I just made a new file labeled 200kb to put them in and selected that as the destination for photscape. Here we go, just a few photos from one batch of photos from a camping/morel mushroom hunting trip.... oh,,, I selected the 800 physical size and had to drop the quality level all the way down to the bottom so that ALL of the photos in my batch would resize to below the 200kb limit.

More of Zippy and Ezzy on a camping/morel mushroom hunt. We camped 25 days this last May in E WA. The wet Ezzy photo was right before I tucked her into my fanny pack under my wind breaker. :D

One of the previous posts shows some young morel mushrooms, the reason we were there. Some of these are on the East shore of Lake Roosevelt, Columbia River.

Lots of chases the entire trip, Ezzy is amazingly fast, Zippy didn't have a chance to evade her at any time. This is a boat ramp at Lake Roosevelt.. The lake was created when the Grand Coulee dam was built.

I made a few bucks picking morels this season... It was a fun adventure! :cool:

as far as keeping clean camping, we don't! Dogs and humans get baths upon return home. When I do camp I usually go out where there's no "creature comforts" at all. We cart in our own water to drink and we aren't going to waste it with baths or cleaning dog toes! The mud is part of the experience....so is digging a toilet.

Your girls are adorable "glamping" :). I'm glad the whole family enjoyed. I would love to have an RV to travel with the boys.

That's pretty much how I camp.... The dogs love it either way. ;) We had a small motorhome before the dogs, I couldn't take it everywhere I wanted to go, and boy did it suck down the gas so there were fewer trips. We are fortunate in the Pacific North West with the National Forests to choose from... Thousands of square miles is at our fingertips.

Do your boys have shorter hair? I found that even on some hikes, they get a ton of vegetation stuck in their hair. Sometimes I'm afraid that the things that get stuck might hurt them and jab their undersides lol... to me my pups are so delicate!

I will look into that no rinse shampoo though! Sounds like a very good idea!

Haha...my little ones are definitely the most ferocious on the streets in my neighborhood. Which reminds me, they might annoy the heck out of all the other campers! :rolleyes:

We just started camping this summer and I was also worried about the girls barking. I have found if we walk them enough, they are too tired to do more than a warning bark. Really, they would rather be inside the camper on the bed taking a nap. Cracks me up... they are definitely house dogs.
