Farley got to go camping again.
 

I haven't been on in soo long. Well I read from time to time and look things up often but I haven't posted in some time.
Farley is 9 years old this year. I cant believe how fast it goes. Hopefully many years to come. He has been one healthy little guy.
Last weekend we went camping and it was pretty chilly so he and sally ann spent their days cuddled up in the camper with the heat on. They were both so very good. Our black lab and rat terrier stay at the vet because they are not good travelers/ campers .
Thought I would share a pic of Farley relaxing this weekend.
I weighed him at the vet yesterday because he has been feeling a little heavier. Was 9 lbs and now 9.8... guess he will be going on a bit of a diet. He has always eated 1/4 cup am and 1/4 cup pm. But with his age prob time to cut back a little.
Also switching his food. He has been on the same food for years, but recently seems to go #2 a lot more often than he used to. I heard they had changed their formula a bit. So hopefully the new food will work out.

Looking forward to seeing your pics! We love to take our three camping and boy howdy do they ever love to go. When the word camping is said around here, it is ON! Hope you enjoy many more camping trips this year!

We love camping as well! Do you set up some sort of little pen for yours? Or just keep them on leashes.
Last year we took an xpen with us. Becuase it was hot and we knew they would have to be out of the camper and moved aroumd to shady spots.
This time it was still so chilly we just brought our labs giant crate. But they spent all their time on leashes or in the camper.

We use a screened tent for our sitting area and unleash our fur babies in it. My husband secures it around the bottom and it works well for us. They love it....they get to be with us and run around without a leash. We don't leave them in it by theirselve though. We, of course, leash them on walks and such. We also take a stroller on our walks for our older one and the one that had leg surgery, so when they tire they ride. They absolutely love camping and love having them with us. Our next trip is in a couple of weeks!!

Hey thats a great idea! We have one of those screened tents! We wont be going again till july! But we are looking forward to it.

Adorable!!! My Jackson loves to go camping. We have an RV and we use ex-pens and put together to make a fence around so they can just come out the door. So convenient. I love being able to camp with dogs.

Thats what i was thinking of! Is something i could set up so i dont have to worry about them getting out the door. I mean they dont try to bolt out or anything. But it would be real nice to just let them in and out the door like that! I love being able to camp with dogs too! Makes it so much more enjoyable! And gives me plenty of reasons to go for walks.

The expen around the door sounds like a very doable idea too. I will mention that to my husband too. We always meet so many more people since we have the girls with us. So many people camp with their pets, so much more fun!

Aww..Farley looks adorable! Lucky him to get to go camping. :) I have yet to take mine to go camping. I think they'd love it!!

I agree! Cant wait for this summers camping trips. I will take lots of pictures! I would love to see other peoples camping pics with their dogs!

We bought a new bigger rv last weekend. Now there is plenty of room for all of us. Eddie and farley are helping me break it in tonight.

Lol, nope not really. Roughing it these days is going to a campground with no water or electricity!
We have tented for the first 8 years of or marriage and we are done tenting it! Lol :)

I agree... did the camping when the girls were in scouts. The family went camping a few times with our dog...now roughing is a hotel lol

I think I would enjoy the RV...but have a fear of driving big trucks so not too sure I could drive an RV... Hotel it will be :rolleyes:

Got home today from first weekend camping in the new rv. Cold rainy weekend so everyone spent most their time cuddled up. Got this one pic of all 4 dogs in the same picture. Harold the sphynx kitty was busy eating tho so he isnt in it

That's what I do also. Gotta dumb it, the phone, down quite a ways to make a photo small enough of a file. You could also re-size them at home. I've chosen not to do that cause I'd have multiple copies of the same pics floating in my puter in various locations. Also, I tried using a couple of those photo editing programs years ago, I found them to be a pain in the ..... LOL

Today, I wanted to write about our new pup. Of course I wanted to post pictures also. Normally my phone and a separate camera is set to the highest detail, largest file, 1600x1200 for the phone.... Just for Yorkietalk, I lowered the phone quality settings to their lowest, 320x240 before spending some time taking photos just for yorkietalk. The average file size turned out to be about 25kb... So, if I remember next time, I'll at least bump the quality up to 640x480. The file size is also affected by the amount of color and light the room or outside has so going higher, 1280x960, may let some photos in but others wouldn't work here.

Just went through some of my better pictures of the last couple months, nothing is anywhere close to small enough to fit here. All the camera photos look to be a Mb minimum, the phone seems to be 400kb minimum. Ha ha!

Looks like fun! It was a pretty wet and cool weekend. At least we won't have to water our yards this week! ;)
