Oh! You have some great ideas here! Being from Montana I'm flattered! We have a horse named "Tana" short for the state name. Also many girls in this part of the country have 'boy' names so don't be limited in that respect. My little girl yorkie is named "Kip". Others maybe could be,Cody,Colby,Shania, Shannon,Windy,Rio,Nikki,Dory,Cricket,Corky,Skeeter ,Blitz,Griz,Wolff,Keno. But I like Josie after the great barrel racer, Good name..........good luck. |
I liked montana and what about Annabelle |
I love the name Sierra, if I ever have a human baby girl I wanted to name her that. I like the names montana, sierra, dakota, dixie, daisy mae, sage........there were alot of good ones mentioned! |
"Bell Star" she was a horse thief and one of the most famous western women along with "Annie Oakly" and "Ma Barker". |
Funny this should come up again..... back in May or June, I posted the same question because we were getting an Australian Shepherd and my husband wanted a Western name. At the time, we thought we were going to get the red merle puppy but when we saw them, we fell in love with the blue merle puppy. I thought I would throw in this link to my post about "western" names to give you a few more ideas.... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6264 Oh, and we ended up going with something not even western-themed. Her coloring was so neat and I thought it looked like stormy skies so we named her Stormie. But Blaze was one of my favorites out of the western sounding ones and would have gone great if she were the red merle colored one. |
I like Montana and Cheyenne. |

Sienna |
Shenandoah |

PebblesMaMa did you ever come up with a name yet?? Just curious....since Montana was on your list, naturally I was wondering..... |
Reba, Maya, Hunter, Kiley, Sloan, Blaze, Bryn, Remy, Bitsy, Skyler, Sweet Pea, Sevana, Sadie, Shyanne. |
A friend's friend of mine named her two little dogs "Kye" and "Yote." You guessed it -- when she calls them at the same time -- She calls, "Coyote." She named them this because little Yorkies (puppycut with their big ears) remind her of a little "Coyote." You could name your little fellow "Coyote." It's a great Western name. Carol Jean PS: Another friend has three little pigs - Their names are "Breakfast," "Lunch," and "Dinner." I think it would be hard to come up with anything cuter than this. |
