Unbelievable I need to vent I went into Petsmart today, saw an adorable wee little baby walking with elderly man, ohhhh my how sweet, what breed is your baby I ask him, I cannot remember but it was a mix of 3 breeds, I ask how old is your baby, man says, 9 weeks, I whisper to him, "you shouldn't have your baby out until it's had all it's shots" man say we're in the process now, again I whisper, he shouldn't be walking around in public places until he's had all his shots which is usually 5 months old. In a huffy voice he tells me "I said we're in the process now". I tell him "talk to your vet" and I walk away. 9 week old puppy on a leash being walked in a pet store...... UNBELIEVABLE. |
Some people are so irresponsible and defensive and rude. That puppy may as well have been running loose in parking lot insofar as the risk he's taking with it's life. Unbelievable is right! |
Ignorance is bliss............. |
My girl was 5 mo old when I got her but she hadnt had all her shots as the guy was a shyster. Anyway I wouldnt let her go anywhere until she had everything! Ignorance may be bliss but I feel for that poor baby. IMO he is abusing her. |
This actually doesn't surprise me at all. Many people don't realize this about puppies. |
I think many people actually don't even realize the danger?? I would think any reputable vet would explain, or at least I hope so? But I see many people with young newborn infants out in crowded places, so I guess people choose what they feel is best? |
Any puppy I ever got, I took her to the vet with-in 48 hours, vet always told me not to take puppies out until they were finished with ALL shots. I do not believe this man took that puppy to a vet............. My next door neighbors (I don't talk to them lol) got a puppy 4 years ago, they never took it to a vet, the dog has had NO vaccines, this dog has NEVER caught a breath of fresh air, they keep the poor thing inside the house ALL THE TIME, I guess they feel the dog is safe if kept indoors. I pray their many visitors does not drag Parvo in their house. They have money for cigarette and beer, but no money for a vet, just blows my mind. |
eeeek! |
I think the breeder should explain these things to the new owner as well! |
Breeder lol, this puppy was a mix of 3, as my grandfather would call it a Heinz 57. He probably paid $50. for it, no breeder, most likely a whoops thing. This wee lil pup walked beautiful on the leash, this man could have gotten this pup at 6 weeks, no way could you train a baby in a week to walk properly on a leash in 7 days, so I don't think he got this baby at 8 weeks old. |
Speaking of unbelievable... Last summer I saw this old, bald, dark-wrinkly-lizard-skinned, steroid-buff-gym-type, man walking a cute little white poodle mix puppy. I wasn't going to stop to let Scottie say hi, but I did. And then.......I saw....the poor little thing, probably no more than 4 lbs at that time, had on a choker chain collar with PRONGS! I couldn't help but tell him that for such a young puppy, he probably didn't need that type of collar - it would hurt it. He didn't understand and told me "you'd be surprised how well behaved he is on this collar". UGH....It was such a horrible feeling walking away knowing I couldn't do anything about it. I repeated myself, about 3 times, that he should consider using a harness, knowing he probably wouldn't change it... :( |
dog I get upset too when I see dogs not treated right. Some people are just not dog lovers like we are. Usually if I can I say something but if I can't I Pray something. May the Lord the hound of heaven go after this person and make them do right. They will get theirs my God does not sleep He hears every prayer. GET EM Lord and He does. |
