Fluid therapy How long does it take fluids to disperse through the body, making that lump go down after fluid therapy? She had to get an extra one not anticipated today, after my daughter's friend dropped a pill bottle in her room, asked Elina not to tell me, and they "cleaned" it up themselves. Being mad doesn't do anything. She luckily thought Naproxen was disgusting and only licked off the outer coating. Soooo she got treated for tapeworm (thanks liliemae for telling me to insist on a medicine for it, it worked) and heartworm, but, heartworm in a few weeks. and got fluid just in case the naproxen was ingested. Fun Day. HEH. By the way, she's better. GI diet worked, and she's received the all clear- now in two days- to go off of it. So, thanks to the rice water suggestions, the food to cook her, the apple cider, and the encouragement from women on this board, a few in particular, I for once don't have any questions EXCEPT about the fluid therapy! The rice water is keeping her happily (and the bone broth) hydrated. Last time it was literally like 2 hours. Here it is 5 hours later and although at least half is gone, it's not all gone.

The lumps should be mostly gone by tomorrow. My Sparky has 3 lumps today, for his kidneys. Happy to hear the liquids are working for her & what a close call with the motrin. Good thing your daughter didn't keep that from you. Is she liking the Apple Cider Vinegar ? All of mine Love it.

You know, surprisingly?! She loves it. I gave it to her this morning before the med incident.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | SO HAPPY to read this update and hear she is doing better. Those lumps can sometimes take a couple hours to disperse.

The more fluid they need systemically, the faster the lumps go down...if they are really dehydrated, those lumps of fluid are absorbed quickly, as they become more balanced with their fluids systemically, those fluids under the skin (sub-q fluid) are absorbed more slowly....this is the fabulous thing about sub-q fluids....very difficult to fluid overload a pup, throwing them into a congestive heart failure issue from fluid overload.
