I love her regardless so for me and her that's fine. I think I'm just going to have to wait and see what she turns into. The curiosity is a killer though. Thank you for all your opinions, they are much appreciated :) |
I didn't realize that you had purchased her already. In that case, of course you will love her no matter what. She is your baby girl. |

I went for a yorkie due to allergies and asthma and I've not reacted to her once (she's been here for a few days now) So who knows! Trust me to get a mystery pooch haha xx |
pup? I agree she does not look like a Yorkie pup. Good that you still want her and will love her no matter what. :) I hope you did not pay top Yorkie price for her though. |
I paid a fair amount for her although I'm not sure what a typical yorkie costs? I suppose it depends on whose breeding them and how quality they are. My minds still telling me not to write it off yet though. I don't expect a 70 year old lady who is married to an ex police chief to lie about it, she's perfectly adorable regardless. :) |
Pup? For a hobby breeder I would say $600 - $1000 and for a great breeder $1500 up. Just my opinion. The price depends on many things as you mentioned. But she is worth whatever you paid as she is your baby and you love her. Can't put a price on that :). If she is a hobble breeder she might not know the lineage of the parents and could not know for sure what the pups would be like. So she does not need to lie, I agree. Enjoy your little one and please show pics as she grows up. We all love to see pics :). |
I paid £600 so I think that's maybe $1100-1200? Either way she's totally worth it and I will keep updating her pictures. I'm going to have fun watching little missy grow! Thank you ever so much |
Pup Thanks. With an average exchange rate of 1.4 $ to the pound, looks more like $850, so you did well :) . Not that it matters as you say. How old is she now? Hope she is being a good pup and not chewing all your things! Pups can be a handful, LOL! I wondered if you were from Dorset, England or in the US. Awaiting cute pics as she grows. :) |
They have a dna test that you could give her. I can't remember if its 200 dollars or 70. But it'll tell you the breed |
I see a chi mix with yorkie. Very cute though. My dog is also a chorkie and a lovely dog. What may have happened is a chi got to mom when they weren't aware of it- litters can have multiple fathers. |
I used two DNA companies and the cost was around $80.00. |
I paid $400.00 for my first yorkie from a backyard breeder. Zoey was purchased from a known breeder and I paid $1200.00. |

He is 8.5 lbs and I find this a very unlikely combo for his looks, body style, and size. His brother was at the pound also, and was smaller than Mario, and a bit lighter in color, so Mario was not a fluke of the litter. I believe he is American Mini Schnauzer and Yorkie (maybe red-legged yorkie), so I believe the test was wrong. But that is me :) |
It's funny you guys said that as I was reading a post yesterday about Minnie? And her Dna test, and was equally as surprised as everyone else that Minnie turned out to be a full breed yorkie. I have considered asking my vet if they can do one, I'm not sure I trust these online companies and their results. I think my curiosity will get the better of me though, and I agree I think she looks like a chi! |
