Anyone with litterbox experiences?
 
Hi! I am Mary! I will be getting my new little girl Roxie, March 15. She will be 9 weeks old. I am going to be doing litter box training. I have heard good things about this. I would welcome anybody's help if they have done this.

I use a litterbox for pee pads and it works great but I have a boy :) think it would work better for you since you do not have the leg lifting issue to think about!

How did you start? The breeder has started her on pee pads, so she should be used to it a little. I am going to be enclosing her in a big pen and have her litter box, toys, and bed in there. Any suggestions? Did you take your dog and place it in the box? Thanks for any information!:)

hiya! yeah, we just put Teddy in the box and praised him when he went. He then started to just hop in by himself because, although the sides are high, the front is low so it's easy for him to get in and out of the box.

having the pads contained in the box, I think, minimizes mess which is great and makes it easier to take him to strange places because he knows to go where the box is and not carpets, floors, etc.

Also, this would solve that pesky little issue of precious baby going to his pad, putting his little front feet on the pad and not realizing the "business end" is over the floor, and missing the pad altogether! You cant hardly fuss at them when they are looking up at you with that absolutely precious little face, almost smiling at you and saying, "Look mommie!!! I am a good girl!! I peed/pooped right here on my pad just like you want!!"

I think this is wonderful. Especially for winters and hot summer days. I would say every 3 hours or so before and after she eats. Best of luck!

HI! I think I confused Roxie, we have her in a large area with her litter box with pee pad. Also there is her bed, food, water dish, but we have the floor lined with pads because it is carpeted. So, she just goes on pads on the floor, instead of into the litter box. Any suggestions?
FYI, Roxie is in hospital right now, she stopped eating, diarrhea. They tested for parvo, which is negative, thank God!, But she is one sick little girl. Praying she will feel better. We brought her in yesterday and by evening she was home and feeling better, but then she took a turn in middle of night, so I brought her in at 7AM. Don't know what is going on!

How old is she? I would say 9 wks may be too young to expect her to catch on. Teddy was 12 weeks when we started training him and we didn't have pads all over the floor but in the box ONLY. If your puppy is 12+ weeks, then I'd agree that you're confusing her by having pads in more than one spot. When the puppy is an adult dog, you wouldn't want her picking where to go if the box is the right place so ensure that you are consistently training her to go to the box only. Hope that helps.

Mhhhhh.......The only time that I placed the pee pad inside the litter box..... found almost all the sand over the floor. One, or two or the three of my Yorkie s had fun kicking and playing with the sand....LOL

I just broght my little girl Layla home Friday, she is 12week and I'm doing the litter box, I just got a cat litter box and place a puppy pad in there and she has been doing awesome!!!! Prayers for your girl!!!

I purchased this very box you speak of, I put my little guy in & he hops right out! I put him in, he hops out..... I put him in!!!!😂 He's a tiny little thing so it's big for him and then his little hiked leg.... Persistence has yet to pay off, I'm being the patient mommy but out of curiosity... How long did it take your lil guy?

Hi everyone I did the litter box thing years ago .I used a plastic tote that I cut a opening in (sand the cut edges smooth ) it worked great for my male who was a leg lifter.
