Default Looking for a boy Biewer
Am looking for a brother for Lacy.
Would prefer one that is up to 6 months old, and is potty trained on a puppy pad. :-) Or one that is older but does NOT lift his leg to pee.
I know there are some great breeders who train their puppies on a pee pad before they go to their new homes, wish all breeders did this, it makes the transition so much easier.
I want to get a boy before I head back to Canada at the end of April, but I have all hardwood floors in my home there and would like to have the puppy potty trained before we return as I don't want my hardwood floors ruined.
When I take Lacy to her Obedience class, she just wants to play with all the other dogs, so I know she would love to have a brother. If anyone knows of an older boy Biewer for sale, (up to 2 years old) please keep me in mind, many thanks!

Which is EXACTLY why I would suggest you go to Build A Bear next time. It is why, in the beginning, I said you should stick with a stuffed animal in the future.

I pasted this to show that you did NOT say INDOORS which you keep insisting. Yes, you said housebroken, but you didn't say "does not hike INDOORS" which you keep insisting you said. I am going to say this ONE MORE TIME: there is a HUGE difference between hiking to pee and hiking to mark. A dog CAN hike on a pee pad. AND males and females HIKE ... it is seen more in males, but can be in females.

I never said you didn't say the above....and I don't know what possessed Dee to post on that thread but she did. Furthermore, we don't know what transpired after that between you and Dee.

I made an observation about this and didn't say anything nasty although you came back with your typical nasty self that I have seen before...many here on this thread have not seen that action.

First of all, I do not KEEP insisting that I said I only wanted a dog not to hike his leg indoors, I only made mention of it ONCE. But you sure love to exaggerate. lol

You strike me as a very nasty person based upon your nasty remarks in the past and then this present thread. IF I can save a pup from this kind of NONSENSE I will. I didn't say anything nasty...I made observations that I stand by. I believe, as the breeder said, you have unrealistic expectations and quite frankly, you strike me as a very selfish person. So...there you have it...MY thoughts about you. My pastime? LOL you might say I have a barn full of animals I love and place in LOVING homes that will accept them for who they are...

No one should ever buy or adopt a pup if they are not ready to accept typical dog behaviors and help the pup learn what is expected of them...with LOVE and PATIENCE.

I'll be the first to kick off that survey. I've read this entire thread. Some of it has been entertaining, such as the comments about barns, etc., but most of it has been jaw dropping. I can't imagine giving a pup up because he lifts his leg, but to each his own. I have the sweetest male imaginable that "squats" most of the time, but even he lifts his leg occasionally. He was neutered very, very early, but it's natural for males to lift their legs...that is how they were made! I, too, have a tiny, tiny female that also "marks"! Unfortunately, we can't control nature.

But, back to the survey...I for one, find Ladyjane to be one of the most knowledgeable, helpful and caring members on this forum. She has helped hundreds of people and countless numbers of pups. She will not candy coat and will absolutely hold one accountable. I did not see where she was vicious or trashed anyone in this thread. I only saw where she was both insulted and attacked. Oh wait, I forgot where she so VICIOUSLY offered to take Einstein and provide him with an unconditional loving, caring home where no one would care if he squats or lifts his leg...what an awful, terrible person! Maybe the OP should take a look in the mirror.

Little more info about leg lifting: some males like my Max will leg lift very early on. Max was 13 weeks. He always did it on the pad, but I had to make sure the pad was not right next to any vertical surface like a wall.

Max still lifts a foot off the floor when he pees on the pad, but he doesn't lift high as when he outside marking.

Teddy learned to lift his leg at about 10 months watching his brother. He only does it outdoors.

Neutering can prevent marking indoors, if the dog is basically potty trained. But it will not prevent leg lifting and marking in general. That requires more training. Admittedly, I encouraged the marking outdoors with praise because I was trying to reinforce that outdoors was okay.

It is possible to discourage all leg lifting, but it requires training. Show dogs are discouraged from leg lifting to protect their coats.

As Linda pointed out, even girls can pick up this behavior. Our female Airedale lifted her leg outdoors to mark.

Let's take a breath here and consider whether or not this should be below you...? I'm assuming it would be below you, but that you're letting some very base emotions get the best of you.

Please, can we not stoop to this level? Isn't this the exact kind of behavior you'll feel utterly terrible and embarrassed about later...? I know that when I've behaved poorly, I truly feel such remorse and I'm humiliated that I let my emotions in the driver's seat.

I agree with lolasmom re LadyJane. She has helped people on this board with her time and advise. I've been the target of her opinion re something I said but I did not take it personally and appreciate all that she does to help people and their pups. She has never said to me, "Who peed in you Wheaties this morning?" as Sharon said to me in another thread. Please Sharon, do not get a boy - they like to pee! It's their nature.
