New yorkie pups Hi everyone , I am new to this posting . I have 2 -13 wk old yorkies brother and sister I thought it would be good to join and see what's happen with yorkies these days |
Welcome to you and your babies. What are their names and do you have pictures to share? |
Welcome to the club! I have 10 month old sibling pups and they are the bomb! I adore them! Rowan and Raksha are so much fun. Remember that they will play hard! It may sounds like they are fighting but they are probably playing. It can get crazy. I just let mine go at it and then they would crash when they got tired. I also have a Yorkie that will be 10 years old on Valentine's Day. Teek is my sweetie Yorkie. Glad you joined! Welcome! |

Thanks everyone ! Not sure yet how to add pic from iPad , soon tho |
I am getting new puppies in a few weeks, a brother and sister... cant wait! I am new to this site also. Are you crating the two puppies together at night? Or do they sleep seperatly? Thanks! Jen |

I would definitely allow them to be crated together at night as long as they get along fine. I would have 2 crates (I have 5 crates at my house) so that you can put them in separate crates if they fight. You do need to watch and make sure they are fighting and not playing as mine can get very aggressive sounding when playing. I think they will settle in better if they have each other, although this will create a dependency with each other. Mine are bonded but they also do okay being apart as they are in separate rooms at night only because the girl puppy belongs to my almost 18 year old daughter and the boy puppy is mine and my husband's. My puppy is bonded to his sister but also is bonded to my 10 year old Yorkie some because the two of them sleep with me. If they will always be together then let them bond and sleep together as they will sleep better. If they start fighting at night then put them in separate crates next to each other, or get a crate divider and put each puppy in each side of it so they can be close but are still unable to fight. My puppies are 10 months old and they really never fight with each other at all. |
Thanks for the response JadeD! I appreciate it!! :) |
I am crating my new pups together and it's working out great . They snuggle together all the time |
Welcome to YT and congrats on your new babies, double the fun, double the mischief lol. There is nothing funnier or cuter then 2 puppies. Enjoy them. |
Welcome - I have litter mates - Luke and Lily. They were 4 mo old when I got them Now 7 1/2 mo old. At first kept them together at this age and then after having them for two weeks divided them into two areas. They are just with 5 feet in their areas and can see each other. Didn't know how much Lily was eating and they were beginning to play too rough all the time in the pen. They now sleep in the same room with us, but sleep in different crates. They are very tiny still. She is 2lb 6 oz and he is 2lb 13 oz. Yes they fight and rough house sometimes and then I find them asleep in the same bed together. She seems to becoming better pad trained then he is, but have heard that boys are always harder to potty train. Good Luck, you will just spend so much time just watching them and laughing. |
Yes , they keep you laughing , my Charlie was watching tv waiting I think for the dog he heard barking to show up lol |
Hi everyone , 14 weeks old Charlie and Chloe are doing both , Chloe will go on paper when I tell her . Charlie will walk off it and pew on floor . It's been 15 yr since I had gone thru the training thing . Help !! Lol !! |
Hi and congrats on your new babies! Yorkies can be stubborn on potty training, at least mine is anyways, he does good but the marking omg- You are going to have a blast with these little ones! If you are using iPad there is an app called Resizer so you will be able to post pics on here, I had a hard time until someone told me about it, hope that helps :) |
