I was 68 years old when I got my first yorkie and yes he was lots of work. I called him my Old Woman mobility motivator. That said ,we became the best of pals ,he went and did everything with me . My baby boy died quite suddenly and I was completely lost with out him . I now have a little of three baby yorkies and I'm looking forward to being their fur grandma. If you take it one day at a time you and they will become the best of pals also. Just keep up the training, consistency is the secret.

put a spoonful of canned pumpkin in their food. that will help keep them regular and ease up the diarrhea. also for diarrhea, use sweet potato. that works fast. They sound really nervous and unsure and scared. Being passed around and who knows how the last owners handled them. Probably scared to death. Take them out one on one, not on a leash but in your arms. Hold them and go for a nice walk. It builds trust and they aren't feeding off each others nervousness. Put a harness, not a collar, on them and let them grow accustomed to that for a bit. then take a short leash and attach it but don't pick it up. once they don't notice it much any more, try picking it up. Baby steps. They probably aren't comfortable with the feeling of not being able to escape. Wait until they realize that they don't need to escape before forcing the leash on them. But take them for walks separately in your arms. teach them to trust you. That should help wonders

So sorry to hear all the problems you are having. Have you tried using belly bands on them until they are housebroken?

Great suggestions, really! Love the holding-while-walking idea...makes good sense.

Ouch! That sounds very sad. I hope you hang in there with them. Our Idaho rescue dog had some apprehension when first moving in but nothing like you have described.

I second the use of belly bands. Used them on our rescue and pom pup, and, now use them on our incontinent old guy.

There is that book that comes highly recommended also, "Yorkies For Dummies".... I haven't read it but sounds like I should have. :D:D

Belly bands rock!!! I keep extras for when other peoples dogs come over and start marking. Im not even joking. I put them right on them cause I ain't havin that ...lol
