First Time Yorkie Owner, Newbie Here 2 Attachment(s) Hi!!! I'm Kate, 30 years old, first time Yorkie owner. :aimeeyork I brought my baby girl Pixie home last week @ 18 weeks old & things could not be going better! My other dogs adore her- I also have 2 pit bull mixes and a french bulldog/boston terrier mix. She's pretty much housebroken already & while she's not crazy about her crate, she doesn't make a peep at night. I've never owned a dog that needs regular visits to the groomer, but I'm excited about all of the style options Yorkies have! :) Her ears are still somewhat floppy and I'm thinking of taping them for a little to see if that helps, so if anyone has any tips about that I'd love to hear to hear them! Pixie weighs 4.8 lbs at 19 weeks- what do y'all think she'll mature to? Thanks, I can't wait to learn more about this awesome little breed in this forum! |
Congratulations she is absolutely beautiful!:) |
Congrats and welcome :)! If you do want the ears to stand, I'd tape them asap...here is a thread about it: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pup...-stand-up.html Another thing, if she does not like the crate - I would not use it at all. Personally, I don't believe in forcing animals into crates if they hate it - like all 4 of mine do. You could use an x-pen or Iris pen instead. She is adorable, btw! :) |
Congrats , she is adorable . My Yorkie was 5 lbs at 19 weeks , now he is 10 lbs at 4 years old .. |
