What Online Website Do You Use To Order Dogfood? Will probably have to order Tibbe's food for the next bag or two as I can't lift and cart to the car and then into the house too much weight for a while. Tibbe eats only Hill's I/D GI and L/D Hepatic, two foods mixed together as a full hepatic diet makes him itch like crazy, sometimes right after eating and other times a few days after going heavier on the hepatic diet. Any website anyone knows of that both sells prescription food and where the shipping costs aren't actually prohibitive? He's still got almost half a sack(no small ones available last trip to Petsmart) of his Hill's Hepatic but is getting low on his Hill's GI, which comprises about 1/2 to 2/3rds of his meal while his allergies are calm, then we go to half and half for a time until he starts to itch. Lately, our local Petsmart only has very large bags of Hill's dry foods when they used to have the 8 lb. ones. Now they are 18 and most bags at the 35 lb. size! They don't always have the Hill's canned in stock either and I've had to special order it and go back to get it a few days later. Any ideas will be appreciated. :animal-pa |
Amazon sells some Rx foods...but I'm not sure what you'd think of the costs...maybe check their prices out...? |

I use Chewy.com for almost everything. They offer free shipping on orders over $49. I looked briefly on their site and they offer Hills ID/GI (wet) in 13 oz. cans (case of 12) for $28.99. The Hills L/D Hepatic (wet) is also 13 oz. cans for a case of 12 at $ 33.29. Their customer service is awesome if you have any questions or problems with an order. I have occasionally also used petfooddirect.com. for things I can't find on Chewy. |
I buy almost everything at chewy.com. My vet has a short list of safe places to order from online posted, and chewy.com is on it. It usually takes no more than two days, and with a $49 purchase, shipping is free. Otherwise, it's only $4.99. Their customer service is wonderful, and their prices are cheaper than the chain stores. Another fan of Chewy's, and their customer service is great. You can opt for another discount by getting automatic shipping and they are really great at adjusting that to fit your needs. |

Chewy.com has all kinds of things for our dogs and cats! I get my son's cat food from them.... You have a HUGE variety of different foods, including prescription food...I think all you have to do is have your vet send a prescription to them for the prescription diet if you are going to be feeding that.....I think they have the best prices on line......free delivery if over $40.00....they are great! |
Thanks for all the quick replies! Going to check out both Amazon and Chewy's. I now remember Chewy's praises from other past threads but couldn't think of the name until I saw it again tonight. Think I might check it out first as Amazon's shipping charges can occasionally be free or a tad on the high side. |
I just placed my second order with Chewy.com. Love their customer service. Ask a question and they chat back with you really fast. So many recommendations about Fromm dog food I'm trying their food for Buddybear and I ordered bully sticks, a toy, etc. Hope you find what you need. |
I'm with you about not carrying heavy dogfood! We usually do Amazon--we have Amazon prime, so free shipping, and it's a couple of dollars cheaper than the pet store. I just checked chewie.com and its quite a bit cheaper! Good to know! |

My mom and dad's little Biewer girl Jazz is on presciption food for her heart. She orders from Chewy.com also. They will just need to verify the prescription with your vet for the first order from them. |
