| What electric nail grinder brand name do you use for your yorkies? Looking for a safe electric nail grinder to trim my yorkie's nails on a regular basis. I have arthritis slightly in my hands so it should not be a heavy weight one and also gentle for a Yorkie. Any Recommendations would be appreciated! Thank You! |

| I use our regular household Dremel to file down the puppies and dog's nails. We use this one because we already owned it. I should say that I have RA in both wrists and I can hold it while I do one paw and then I wait a little while before I do another one. There are many different types of nail grinders on amazon.com. Start slowly so they will get used to the sound of it. Good luck

| I have a dremel which I've used for my dogs before. I recently bought a nail drill and find it much easier to use. Its smaller and easier for me to hold and maneuver. I got the nail drill from ebay for about 30 bucks. I bought it for my nails but am happily surprised that I like using it for my dogs too. |

| I bought an Oster from Wal-Mart in the pet supply department. It's the same one my groomer uses. |

| Just a word of caution. If your dog is in full coat or long hair be cause you do not get the hair caught in the drill - it wil pull and hurt.

| Thank you for the warning. I do plan on letting her hair grow so I will keep this in mind! |

YT 500 Club Member | Try using it yourself first so you can see how fast it gets hot. It only takes a few seconds to heat up and be painful. I use a dremel every so often so I know. Just be careful. Don't grind and grind because it will hurt them. Test it on yourself so you know what I'm talking about. |

We use a dremel. One dog hates it, the other just sits and lets us do her nails
