Yes, I have a stripper name but not a stripper body! |
We had just lost our sweet little Bree full name ( Sweet Island Breeze.). We shortened her name to Bree. I was having a very hard time getting through loosing our tiny little girl. After a few weeks we decided to get another puppy it turned out we would be getting a little male. This little boy was such gentle loving baby no ruff housing just sweet. He had the softest expression with beautiful eyes that just said he loved us. Actually he was sophisticated for a young puppy. If yorkies can be that way this little fellow is every bit. So he became (Posh Tosh).I never regreted giving him this name anything else would never have fit him. Then came Tova she had a very strong will and very determined. She can give a look that might be saying I don't think I want to do that not right now anyway. But just as sweet as Tosh. She was obviously going to be larger than our Bree. I thought Tova needed a name to go with Tosh. Then there's Tassel tiny little manipulator with a very big bark or will turn on a pity party to get her way. Just a tad over 3pds and no one challenges her. She has had a very nice coat from the time she came home to us. When combed out with her topknot and her little tail held high the hair just hangs like little tassels. So that how she got her name which suits her too. |
My little girl was named by her breeder, and since she was three years old and being uprooted from her home, we didn't want to change her name too. Katie's official name is Yabba Dabba Doo, but her call name is Kate. Every time her breeder spoke to me about my little girl prior to her joining our family, she lovingly called her Kate, and that is the name used on her webpage, along with Yabba Dabba Doo. Three months later, when she finally joined our family, I found out that our Latvian breeder had been calling her Katja, so I'm not sure if it would have made much difference if we changed her name to something else. We mostly call her Katie, sometimes Kate, and less occasionally Katja. The names are all special because of how dearly we love our little girl. |

We changed Teddy's name from Tank and I believe that having the same T sound was helpful. He loved his new name instantly and answered to Tank like a nickname. I laugh thinking about how many nicknames these little ones learn, respond to, and become possessive of. My boys do not like to share nicknames. |

Rin will be 7 on the 28th of this month. We though Rin would go with our daughter as well and we were sad at the thought. HOwever, Rin loves everyone but is especially attached to my DH. My daughter decided Rin picked Daddy, so she gets to stay with Daddy:D Tyson also has the same Dam and Sire, although he is from a later litter. |

I feel silly now with my dogs being named Gatlin, Teek, Raksha and Rowan. I can fit all 4 of my dogs names into one of your dogs names! They are cool. I love Ezmirelda and Renee (Renee is my middle name). |
My granddaughter named my puppy, Zoey, after her favorite Little Pet Shop (cartoon) puppy. Let a 3 yr old name a puppy and it's bound to be a cartoon name. Lol |
I like regular people names for dogs, perhaps because I treat mine like a child (don't we all!) I recall a movie from years back where a guy with a dog named Willie Nelson met a girl with a dog named Dolly Parton and of course they fell in love. (I think that was the plot, if not it was my takeaway!) Anyway, I really liked how they named their much loved pets after their fave musicians and filed that away for future use. So when it was time to add our yorkie to the family, only one name would do. True story- after I'd had Joni for a few days and she was settling in, I turned on the CD player to let her listen to her namesake - and she promptly threw up. (I think I had the volume too loud and it startled her). Husband got a good laugh out of that - I suspect he had felt the same for a long time. |
