Yes, that's what got me involved in Yorkietalk in the first place, I hadn't even decided on a breed of dog yet, but I just loved the people on Yorkietalk, always willing to help and expecting nothing in return, it just warmed my heart, we've evolved a lot since then, and now I believe we probably have some of the best advice on the web, but I hope we never lose that "heart" and compassion.

It would be great to have them participating and becoming a part of this wonderful site. I think some people just come here to ask a question, and once they get answers, they seem to slip away. I wonder how we could make it more interesting for them to stay. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I know when I was young, that's all I had time for too, I'm actually amazed that so many young people do have the time to stay involved, but I think it helps if their jobs allow that. Mostly, I believe that if we make them feel welcome and respond to questions in an kind way, they will stick around if they have the time.

I know trying to help and be kind is key to keeping people coming back. I know when a newbie asks a question and I don't know the answer, I try to refer them to the correct forum or as you know, I pick your brain. Lol!

JMO from being on YT seeing and reading their threads and replies to new ppl......The members on YT are dedicated, devoted and madly in love with their yorkies and the breed in general, Their yorkies comes first in their life. They are true animal LOVERS. New ppl come, ask for help, advise get what they came for and yes, they are never seen again. In my short time on YT the new members that have stayed and joined the YT family are devoted to their baby and eager to learn more about the breed and all that they can do to give their baby the healthiest, happiest life possible. I stumbled upon YT by accident, when I saw there were crazy in love yorkie owners like myself I knew I found a new home, one where I could share my thoughts and experience with, but even more, to read how much they LOVED their yorkies and the crazy things they did for their babies. I know I am not a nut for sleeping on the floor when you have a sick baby that cannot be on the bed due to an injury or age, or cradle a baby in your arms to sooth them when they are sick or seem unhappy. Today many yorkies are purchased as a status symbol, because they are # 1 most popular small breed dog and expensive. Just like ppl by expensive cars just to show off, give ppl impression they are financially well off. The new ppl that come to ask a question and are never seen again are not IMO true lovers of the breed, if they were they would stick around and learn all that they can from this forum. They will stick around if, they have the interest, they will FIND the time. The amazing thing about YT is, it is not just about yorkies, it’s about all dogs in general, anyone with any breed is always welcomed with open arms and helped with whatever issue it has. I have seen a GREAT change for the best in the last year how YT members receive new ppl. All questions are answered to the best ability that our members have. IMO YT works fine just as it is. IMO we have the most loving, caring, concerned and knowledgeable members anyone could ask for. JMO oh yes….there is one change that can make YT better….that is to make posting pictures easier

Thanks for your post. I have always found YT so informative and people have always been so helpful towards me. I think being interested in what the other person is saying and being kind is very important. There are so many people like that here.
