Kiss or Lick? Not sure how we got to this topic but... During a conversation with a friend, she brings up that she licks her yorkie's paw (after cleaning) just to see their reaction. And automatically, I went EW!!!!!!!!!! Then I mentioned I kiss M/Z on the lips sometimes and she goes EWWWWWW! She insists kissing them on the lips is more gross as where I insist that licking the paw is. So I decided to turn to my fellow crazy yorkietalkers! Which is more EWWWWWW to you guys? 1. Kissing on their lips 2. Licking their paw |

It depends on the dog. I have no problem with kissing Veau or Rasta on the mouth/paw( prefer mouth). Medi still is in the poop eating stage :eek: so he'd receive a peck on the paw. |

Both mine kiss me on the lips and all over the face every day and it does not bother me. What does REALLY bother me is when they take that long tongue up my nose! That is an EEEEEWWWWW moment for me. :eek: |

I don't think I've ever thought to lick my dog on the paw or anywhere but I would if I had to. Kissing on the other hand happens all the time, lol. I get woken up with yorkie kisses on the lips. I agree with the up the nose, Molli does that sometimes and it drives me crazy! |
I just allow my dog to lick my cheek. I can't stand to have my puppy lick my lips! They lick their private parts!!! Ewwwww! And no I wouldn't lick the paws either! Yuck! |
If it was right after cleaning their paws I guess it would be ok. I've never thought of doing it though. Is she doing it on the top or bottom of the paw? I think the pad would be weird. But then again I let Uni make out with me so...... My mouth is closed btw. :D |
at first i freaked out when kupo *kissed me*.. but now i'm slowly getting used to it... i kiss him back now... but kinda back off if he comes at me with full blown puppy lick kisses lol.. but.. erm.. i don't think i'll lick his paws though.. thats.. kinda nasty.. lol i mean.. i clean his paws right after he goes outside... with bath wipes.. and wipe him up after he pees and poos too... lol (prolly the only one who does this...) so i keep him pretty clean... but i still wouldn't lick there.. O-o; |
Oh wow! I hate to admit this, but at times Barney thinks he's my dentist. I keep telling him he's not a french poodle. But that boy likes to give the tongue! Anna likes to give face baths and Willie doesn't kiss. I think his former owner must not have allowed it. I actually give treats when they kiss if I ask for one. Yes, I am definitely a weirdo. I know they lick other stuff, but hey, they are CUTE! |

Why exactly do they lick their paw? I was a bit confused about that and I say EWWWW! LOL I will kiss my Yorkies on the top of their head and back of their neck. I will lift their paw to my lips and kiss the top of the paw gently (I do NOT lick their paw). As far as them kissing me. They are allowed to kiss my cheek and sometimes they get to my nose, but I quickly move them away from me if they try that so they know my cheeks is what they are allowed to kiss. I do not make out with any of my dogs. They eat cat truffles, I want no part of that! LOL |
lol, licking paws, nope never licked any of my dogs paws, kisses yessss, kiss the paws,belly mouth, eyes. Cody was not use to all the kissy stuff but he's getting there lol, I haven't given his belly the raspberry yet lol, have to try that on him lol, my girls would go wild and zoom all over the house after one raspberry lol |
We give Uni the tummy raspberry but not Toto. He's kinda small and it's just too close to his peepee. LOL You can't even really give belly rubs bc it's like right there. More like chest rubs. |

Small dogs tend to sit on us, climb over us, sleep with us, so it makes sense to clean them up more. Our dogs kiss us on the lips, Hubby says 'goodnight' and they line up for a kiss. Neither really grosses me out, to be honest, lol :D. But we're kissers over here...but I do love touching/handling their cute little paws when they'll let me. Some people's yorkies have Frito Feet, and I know they often love to smell their cute Frito Feet, lol! |

As a fellow paw licker and lip kisser, I can see the ewwwww factor in both. I sheepishly admit that one time Jillie as a pup walked on a salty roadway and immediently whined and started picking up her feet. We were on a walk and I had nothing to rinse them with, but I felt so bad that I literally put each of her 4 paws in my mouth and licked the salt off and spit it out. That was definitely Ewwwww to me at the time, but I'd do it again if that was all I had to save my pups the discomfort. |
