Callie has a blonde head with blonde legs and her body is black. Sometimes when her hair grows out a bit right before a grooming there are a few strands of blonde. Callie is 8. I think if she gets gray hair now it's from old age :D |

Hmm she kind of has similar coloring to my Kimchi, and she's a black & gold. She got fine sprigs of silver/blue around the edges of her black saddle (and silver/blue top of the head), but I don't expect her to ever go completely blue/silver on her saddle. I used to also have a black and tan girl in the past and she had more of that tan color instead of blonde and still had a black saddle all up until she past away at 12 yrs old. I have noticed she has some tan around her mouth and sometimes feet, but I come to realize it's most likely staining. I used a facial cleanser that helps remove stains some and noticed that those areas lightened up some. |
Gizmo is 2 yrs old and still Black and Tan. He also has a cotton coat. My new pup Maxwell is only 4 months old, super thin long shiny coat for his age and has already broken the steel blue on his head, and I'm positive he will be a silky coat. His hair is already about 3" long at only 4 months :-) |
Thanks for all the input and shared examples everyone! I don't think she is a red leg, I trim her legs. But a good suggestion! I have always gotten silky and cotton coats confused. Maggie 's fur grows slow and thick. And I never have to brusher her, I usually only do before plopping her into the bathtub. The black is coarse, and the tan is fine and so soft. But she never mattes, though I keep her in a puppy cut so that probably helps. As for the color debate, I am happy to have her stay gray free forever, she is cute as a button and will always be a baby to me :) Was just curious about other pups. Sounds like we have a good mix on this forum...they really do come in all colors and sizes! |
