I have a Morkie (maltese/yorkie) and have learned so many things from this forum about small dogs by reading the posts. I love having found this wonderful place. |

I would certainly be worried if I thought I was buying a little Yorkie and actually got a Rottie. I dont blame you for wanting to know what you have. It doesn't really look like a Yorkie puppy to me, sorry. |

Is she a yorkshire toy or not? Hello everybody, I got pics of Cayetana. Sorry for insisting, but do you think that she is a real yorkie? She is only three months, but she does not have the "yorkie" mustache nor does she have straight up ears. Thank you very much. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |

Omg....lol, well thats pretty funny. So, at least I was right:D The puppy sure does look like a Rottie, lol QUOTE=matese;4562165]lol, that's not a picture of HER dog, the op is showing a pic of a Rotie, stating her dog has that coloring, short hair and markings, when I first saw the pic I thought the same as you until I re-read her post lol. All new born yorkies look like Roties.[/QUOTE] |
For starters, some yorkies will have floppy ears, I had two with floppy and two with straight stand up ears. As for is she a yorkie. I say at this age give her time to grow, to me she looks like a poorly breed yorkie, she has the coloring of a yorkie, IMO, I think she will be a large baby, 10 lbs maybe more. I say this because of my own personal experience. All my yorkies were 10 lbs and over, my largest being 17 lbs. Looking at your babies face shape and size leads me to think she will be on the larger size, not the standard 5 to7lbs. This is JUST my opinion. I had two yorkies that remained with pure black hair on their back and auburn hair on face and legs, I had two yorkies that were silver grey body and tan / blond face and legs. Did you see the parents of this puppy, did you buy this puppy from a breeder, or, someone that had a yorkie and mated her/him with with another yorkie. Did you get AKC registration papers for this puppy.... As long as she is a healthy baby and you love this little baby that's all that really matters. I understand that you want to know if she is pure breed, but, a picture is just that, a picture. Sometimes it is hard to tell from a picture if a pup is pure breed. If your vet feels she is 80% yorkie, I would go with the vet. You can do a DNA on her to see if she is pure 100 % yorkie. There are members on YT that are DNA savvy. Love and enjoy this new little life you have accepted to join you and your family. |
