I always wonder why these celebrities who travel internationally so often want to bring pets with them. |

Just like Beiber (sp??) took his pet monkey to Europe (?? Germany ??) and then left it in quarantine and returned to the States/Canada, without his little monkey, and I am not sure what ever happened to it..... |

France already has a rabies problem so there is no need to be as strict about it... I am happy that some Australians took the initiative to call out the guy who threatened to kill the dogs. Not only because it would be inhumane, but because it made Australia look really stupid... https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/johnn...010611044.html Depp, if he knowingly 'smuggled' in the dogs, was the only stupid one here and hopefully he's learned his lesson! |

It looks like Johnny Depp's dogs are back on their way to the US: Johnny Depp's dogs leave Australia just hours before deadline | Film | The Guardian |

I wonder how much money Australia is making because a movie is being made there? I'll bet Jonny doesn't want to make another film there. Personally, I think Australia's prime minister could have handled this heck of a lot better. |

I have issues with people that deliberately break the law......especially just because they think they are "important" or "special" or "rich" enough they can get away with it. Other countries around the world are not as star struck as we are here, and they have strict rules/laws about smuggling plants, food, or animals into the country, and they enforce their laws. Australia has done just fine before Depp arrived on scene with his movie crew, and I bet they will do just fine if he gets mad because he had to follow the laws like the common folk and decides to never go back! I am glad his little dogs are returning to the States! Wonder if they will have to go through quarantine upon entering the USA customs??!! |

I believe Australia has one of the toughest biosecurity laws because they do not want any foreign plants, animals, etc to be brought in and upset their ecosystem. They have a system that has taken millions of years to develop and is quite unique. We have seen it happen in other places. A beetle gets introduced to an area and all the trees start dying. The sea lampreys are killing the indigenous fish in the great lakes. I don't blame Australia for having tough import laws. I do blame Depp for thinking he is above the law. |

England quarantine is six months so they are tough here but I can't imagine threatening a dogs life on the basis of their ignorant owner. Hope it's all resolved now...phew! |
