Love it! She is a doll baby! |
What a cutie pie! :D we recently tried double bows too and we liked it so much that we made it our avatar! There should totally be a 'post your yorkie hairstyles here' thread under the pictures category or grooming maybe...that would be super fun :) |

She is so pretty...My favorite for Sunni is Pigtails too.. Kind of works with her ears better, lol. If I just do one, she always manages to get it off center and ends up looking like a furry unicorn, haha. I'll try to get pictures later, she has pigtails in but no bows yet today. |

Oh and also what kind of moisturizer do you guys use. As of now we aren't using any just Johnson baby wash and Pantene conditioner. Any suggestions? |
Your little munchkin is adorable. I love her name. |
Thanks and thanks darling... it took me a long time to come up with her name I wanted something super girly :D |
:)Actually, you can do the sanitary trim yourself. You may as well get used to it because its really something you will need to do between grooming. Its not hard to do at all, and the earlier she gets used to you doing it, the less of an issue it will be. Just get a small pair of blunt nosed scissors hold up the stub and snip close but obviously not too close. Use baby wipes on her butt or back to basics butt bath:) I use Trueblue Pure and Sure Puppy shampoo, milk and honey and Top Paw Milk Bath conditioner…lots of conditioner and I dilute the shampoo in warm water before pouring it on her. I also have a big measuring cup of a lot of conditioner mixed with water and pour it from head to tail…rub it in for a mini massage, then rinse way more then I think I should, but I don't want dry skin or dandruff:eek: Last week someone recommended Isle of Dogs silky coating brush spray, and I love it!! Smells nice and her coat is silky and shiny. |

Presley was probably 13-14 weeks old when they started flopping, at first one at a time and after her was tired from playing hard :) he is an active little fellow. I called my breeder and she told me to tape them, 3 days taped 2 days untaped until they are standing. It worked okay, but then when his big molars in the back started cutting I would take them down and both would flop without standing at all. My breeder has been wonderful as we have become friends since I got Presley, I mentioned this to her and she told me to get aggressive with it, to keep them up and if they came down to put them right back up. I did this and it worked for me, Presley is just shy of 6 months. I have read where sometimes even after 6 months you may can get them up. I wish you luck, it's frustrating but using the cardboard and glue is oh so much easier, or at least it was for me ;) |
Btw I forgot to say I did this for 2-2 1/2 weeks and they have been up solid now for over a week, woot woot!! That's an accomplishment in my house lol! |

Ok ladies I trimmed the tips of her ears and now it's standing up but drooping at the tip so I'll try cardboard and tape to hold them up. Hopefully it will work. I'll love her either way but I just loves yorkies with erect ears |
Good luck, I hope it helps! I am like you I will love them either way, but there is something about those ears standing at attention❤️ I am trying to figure out how to post pics from iPhone (on this post)of when I had Presley's ears with the cardboard but the struggle is real, so until I can figure it out I will put them on my profile under Presley's pictures :) |

Lol ok thanks love... in a side note how do you and your pup do in the heat in the Carolinas. My soon be in laws live in nc(his mom) and sc (his dad) in the country country though lol. I've visited a few times but it's so hot is like your suffocating when you walk outside. I remember it was like 90 @6am when we were there. And he's talking about moving there ugh lol |
I was raised in southeastern NC, and later moved to SC, so the heat and humidity is all I know, lol. I am an avid hater of cold weather, so the milder winters is a very big plus to me. My husband is from Virginia and it took him a couple of years to get used to our summers, it can be stiffling. With the pups I keep water with me ALL the time, even if we are just going to be gone 30 minutes. Also with their stroller I keep the frozen ice pack things that I slip under the bed part of the stroller which works wonders to keep them cool. AC will be your friend, your best friend in the August heat. In the summer I also keep their hair cut shorter and let them start growing out around September. You will get use to it, it will take time, but there is nothing like summer nights in the South to me, one of my favorite things :). |
Btw, what part of the country country? I am in Murrells Inlet, south of Myrtle Beach and North of Charleston |

I am going to try this on Elliot's ears. Her ears stand up but the tips flop over. She is 4 1/2 months old. I am hoping it will work. Duncan is almost 7 months old so I think he is too old. His flop completely. They are so cute though when he is lying down and they stand up. I wish they would have stood up but he is cute even with his floppy ears. |
The eyelash glue will eventually work its way loose or you can use a qtip and olive oil and it will come off that way. With the cardboard with brown side out it is not as noticeable so my other baby didn't mess with it. Once you put the glue on the cardboard let it sit a minute then put it on, that way it will not slide as bad and will be pretty much set when you get it on. I put a couple of pics of Presley on my profile with his ears like this, one of them he has a aqua hairbow and the other is a green hairbow so you know which ones to look at. It may work for your baby that is 7 months, he could still be teething, I know Presley has not lost all his teeth yet. If I can help please let me know, I know this was way easier than taping for us. |

Ah okay, I know Lumberton it is a good place, I was raised in the Wilmington area. Be still my heart - CHARLESTON - I LOVE downtown Charleston, it is my favorite weekend get-away! There is great pet friendly resturants there:).I will give you a hint inland areas in the south are extremely humid, beach areas are not quite as bad as you have the sea breeze etc. You need to strike a deal with the hubby, 'sure we will move there, as long as we are close to the beach :D'. I heard about the winters up there, my heart went out to you, my husbands family is in Yorktown VA and they got hit really hard too, but not near what ya'll got. Presley is a wild child but he did pretty good with the cardboard, lol. |
