| Liver shunts I'm new to this group. I have searched and can't seem to find any information on liver shunt diagnosis and tests. I'm sure there must be information on this subject on this site. Please guide me to how to locate it.My 8 month old male, Riley was supposed to be neutered on Tuesday. The vet could not do the surgery as his Alt level was high at 96. He had a bile enzyme test. The fast result was high at 86. The 2 hours after eating test result was perfectly normal at 1.6. Any thoughts or help here would be appreciated. We have a follow up appointment with a Vet Internist. |

| Here is a link to a well-done PDF brochure on liver disorders in Yorkshire Terriers and other small dog breeds written by Dr. Karen Tobias of the University of Tennessee, the foremost authority on liver shunts in the United States: http://www.vet.utk.edu/clinical/sacs...2013-09-26.pdf |
