Izzy home from spay! It gets to be like a soap opera on here don't it?! Lol Lazer surgery, done ...drowsy but holds head up and managed a lick. I had chicken and rice fresh made she wolfed down and drank water and peed ....that is main concern aside from keeping quiet for a few days and no stairs for 5. Watch for swelling or seeping....she's snuggled in her favorite spot and blankee.... Baby happy to be home....mama too😘 🍪 made doggy cookies for tomorrow , zoey liked that right out of the oven today!🐾🐾🐾🐾 |
Aww thats great!! Now mommy can relax tonight and get a good night sleep:) So glad to hear the surgery was a success! |
How much is laser surgery compared with regular spay? |

Having said this, there are huge advantages to laser spaying. First and most importantly, the dog experiences far less pain during recovery. They are also far less likely to fuss with their wounds, which could lead to infection. Laser spay surgery itself is far more sanitary since the heat of the laser kills any bacteria that find their way into the wound. Worth it in my book....$225.00 and that includes intensive care , exam, consult, pre anesthetic ,anesthesia , and lab work .probably depending on the area and the clinic. Mine consists of a vet of one, not several and in a small town. I also had her microchipped for an additional charge...... |
Thanks, I had no idea what kind of cost it would be. I might see if any vets in my area do this. I am glad it sounds like she is doing well. I hope she has a fast recovery. |

Just a little red where slit is, resting comfortably but awake at times....otherwise she's not bothering it at all.....yet.... We'll see what she's like when she's fully awake the little wild thing....I'm ready though....onesies ✅ Playpen x 2✅ Extra blankees ✅ Carriers to confine ✅ Gates to restrict access to stairs✅ Extra pee pads, in case can't move fast enough to get there✅ Toys, toys, toys to keep occupied confine✅✅✅ Sheesh! 3 days very little movement, 5 days till stairs.... |
I might add... The laser seals nerve endings as it cuts so that the pet has less pain during recovery. ... my vet swears she won't even need pain medication. |

I had Spice done laser ,last month and is was as tho she had nothing done!! She never once bothered her wound and for a couple days it was a little red and swollen but didnt stop her from doing anything and I was really concerned as she just wouldnt stay still so she was crated for 3 days. A week later she was running and jumping!! I just cant believe the changes she has gone thru in the 3 mo I have had her. Every day a different one so I am enjoying her every day and wonder what tomorrow will bring! love this baby of mine.♥ |
Glad everything went well. Hope she heals fast. |
It really depends on what kind of surgery is done and the skill of the surgeon but most Yorkies are ready to go after the second day. I have had a multitude of small animals spayed/neutered and not had any issues for the last couple of decades. It was back when they were still using the old external sutures that we had a few problems post surgery. Your baby will be back to normal in a very short amount of time. |

She was most certainly awake bright and early this morning but not in any discomfort. Not a peep . Ate , drank and peed well too...resting now inthe comfort of her favorite spot, blankees, and mama. Trying to have a quiet , low keyed day😴💤 ....cept that little zoey keeps wanting to check up on her!👀 I have daddy patrol going on there👍 |
