| Reverse sneezing I have Chihuahuas and this is a common thing for them but is it common for Yorkies? Trinket is now 11 months old and has started something that seems very similar to the reverse sneeze. Not constantly but different times throughout the day. |

| http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sea...archid=7067101 My yorkie mix reverse sneezes. That and from reading a bunch, it seems the reverse sneeze does not have a "hack" at the end of the "wonk wonk wonk". If it's new behavior, it's best to have your vet check it out. It's better to be safe than sorry. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I do think that many yorkies have RS as well.

| Yes it happens. Troy did it more frequently than Emma. She does it when she drinks her water too fast.

YT 500 Club Member | My vet checked izzy out when I brought up that sound and how she does it mostly if she's straining on a leash or running hard, and he told me she has beginning stages of collapsing trachea. Now toby has started making those same sounds when he runs too... But my vet said its most common in smaller dogs and toby , well, let's just say he's far from small. He was 10 lbs at 5 months, he's 9 months now and huge. So I don't know if it's RS or collapsing trachea with him yet. What's the difference in the sound they make to tell how they differentiate? |
