I'll bet we all do this So lets hear it! That high pitched voice with that cute or silly little nick name when we play with them, call them or when we greet them after being away for a while. I'll go first in my high pitch voice.. Hannah-Hannah Han..Hanny Hanny! Hanna Hanna! Roxanna-Danna Dan! Roxanna Dan Dan! Sassie-Butte Butt! Sasssie butte butt! (she does this weird thing kicking out her back legs and making her butt go up in the air) Holly-Holly Ho! Hola Hola! Kiki-Laquita! Quita Qeek! Lola-LoLo! Lolielo! Synde-Sinda lou! Bisquit(RIP)-Bidda Boo! Bee Boo! Bee Boo Boo! (He would either run doing zoomies or lay up under the shade tree and wiggle his tail) Jasmine(Rip)-Jazie Jaz! My Horse Jigger (RIP)-Jigga Big Girl! Bigga big girl! There is just no correct way to spell some of this stuff!! Let's hear your high pitch, cutsie little nick names. Maybe we should pick a winner!! |
I'm strictly a low who's a good boy voice |
I definitely do the baby voice...I usually call her Bonnie Bear and she sticks her little butt up in the air...then I tell her "I'm gonna get the Bonnie Butt!" ...Getter...Get the Bonnie Bear! At which point she's zooming around like a bee to honey...lol |
Mine are Lexi bexi boo Parker barker boo I like to rhyme lol. |
Anna Banna Anna Poo Anna Jill---makes my son furious, he has a friend named Jill. I'm not sure why I do this. I also do it to my students (girls) at school. So they become Haili Jill, Ashlynn Jill, etc. Sir Barnacles--when he's yelling at me to play Barney Bubbles--to the song Tiny Bubbles Barney Baby St. Bernard --- when he's behaving incredibly well and performing his tricks like a pro |

When I rescued my Lola and she had her 7 puppies an Italian family adopted one I called Birdie. The husband whispered Bella Bella to her. I knew what he was saying but it was that sexy Italian voice that I knew she would hear for the rest of life . Lucky girl! It was hard for their family to say Birdie so they changed her name to Bianca which was fine with me. Yes your Matese was Bella! I like "Code a low e" Oh some of the stuff they make us come up with! |

I would always sing the song "who let the dogs out" when I would get home from work to let Macy out of her cage. I also sang many silly songs ro her, she didn't judge me. She also had plenty of nicknames... Trixie, pretty girl, Mae-mae. |

Mine is Mickey-doodle went to town, a riding on a pony, he stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni. of course to the tune of yankee doodle. |
I do more of the baby talk and call Teek "Teekie" and I tell him he is my Tiki torch because he is the light of my life. He just loves to hear me say that I love him all day long. I think he prefers the deeper sounding voice I use with him sometimes too though and so I will just say Teekie in a deeper and slower voice and he comes running to me. I sometimes do more of a sing song type voice to say his name and it gets me a head to the side look that I adore so I do it rarely so he will do that for me. |
I do admit I ask who is happy to see me after I get home from work And we do the happy dance https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jRwsTyUPIYE |
I sing this to Zoey - zoey, zoey - a cute little girl named zoey. Zoey Z. I also call her tinker bell, french fry, wee wee burger, you cute little thing (this one really gets her going). |
Cakes Baby Cakes Sweet Cakes who my baby cakes? I've never called anyone "cakes" in my life. It just came out of me when I got him. I'm possessed and speaking in Yorkie. |

LOL at all of these! I get completely stoopid over Lexie--she has so many totally ridiculous nicknames! "Where's my little pootie tootie Mc Cutie? Aw dere's my widdle sniglet!" (That gets her bouncing :D ..and many more like yorklet schnorklet, pootie-kins, munch-face. I know, loco! :D |
I need to let my husband read this thread and then maybe he won't think I am so crazy! LOL |
Lacey's song - "I love my Lacey, my baby girl. She is my Lacey, her Momma's girl. I love my Lacey, my precious girl. She is my Lacey, a pretty girl." I sang this song to my iguana for 9 years (substitute name Sparty). She always perked up and seemed to listen. When she passed and I got Lacey, it became her daily song. Lacey is also known as Miss Pup, Poo Poo, and Miss Dirty Face. Pepper Jack (thinks his name is 'Drop it!') is also called 'itty bitty baby bits', Pepper Poo and Peppy. |
Rin, Tyson and Ernie are affectionately known as Sister, Brudder, and Udder brudder....lol Rin also gets: Rinnie girl or Rinnie Rin Tyson will also answer to: Monkey When I arrive home from anywhere, I must immediately put my stuff down and sit on the floor with them so they can receive the adoration they deserve. When I'm allowed off the floor, Tyson knows I'm gonna pick him up and carry him around for extra lovin' :D |
My silly song is Asha baby hurry down the stairs to me, to the theme tune Santa baby! |
I do it with Sophie all the time and I am sure my neighbours think I am crazy when they walk by the door! I do it with my cats as well. Sophie (our yorkie) has a set of nicknames my husband and I both call her as well as ones we each call her! My husband even uses a high-pitched or baby voice with her! Both of us - So-ph-ia (each syllable is emphasized), Soph, baby or munchkin Me - Monkey, Stink Bug, Pun-kin Husband - Turdball, Ms. Piggy, Fatty or Butthead (all said very lovingly though!) And just for fun, here are the cats' names they get! Grumpy - Grump, Grump-a-bump, Bumps, Grumpy Bumpy Sammie - Sam, Sam Bam, Bammers, Bam Libby (short for Liberace) - Raw-chee (name she responds to best), Rawch (I have never had to spell these names out before!) or Rawchee-o-li (a word play on ravioli lol) Mimi - our kitty that passed away last month was Meems, Meemers or Meemer the lemur |

No songs from me because as soon as I start singing Max IMMEDIATELY jumps on my chest and starts licking my mouth. I am not sure if he loves my singing that much or (more likely) he is trying to get me to shut up! Sasha gets cuddled with "my baby Sasha bear" Max get cuddled with "Max A Million" or "Max dog" |
Penny also hears "Release the Kraken" from my husband when he opens the door to her crate....lol |
