I know I was just getting ready to post about all the puppies she posted and it was gone................... |
It's amazing they had the nerve attempting to post ads here...kudos to admin for being on top of it  |
here's the scam I almost fell for yesterday I almost fell for this! It's kind of backwards (read from the bottom up). If I hadn't found this site, I would have been a sucker  :thumbdown :thumbdown  Am presently in west africa due to the death of my lovely daugther so do not worry the puppy will be shipped and the shipping agent will delievered her to your door step.she is fed purina puppy chow twice daily, first in the morning at about 8am and the second at about 6pm. You might give her a treat of gumabone or rawhide bone. She is coming with health certificate vaccinary, all paper work will be ship together with her.So what you need to do now is to prepare for the coming of my lovely baby to your family and get back to me with your shipping address so that i can send it to the shipper for the arrangement then i give you the information on how you will make the payment. Hope to hear from you soon. lorishasantiago@cox.net wrote: > Thank you so much! I would love to come and pick up the puppy, if you live in or close to Virginia, if that's alright with you. Please give me a call and let me know what you want to do. Also can you tell me what kind of food I should get, what shampoo , and anything else that I will need? Lori welcome to YT ...thank god you caught on to the scam, where did you find the puppy you wrote about? What made you realize you were being scammed? Did they send you pictures? |
Lori, So glad you found out in time! OH yea WELCOME TO YT!! Did she send pictures??? What site did you find her on? We have wonderful Breeders on this site. I hope you find your furbaby soon. :) |
Hi and welcome to YT. Glad you caught on to the scam before it was to late. |
Kim and Stacy: If this is the only person that has been able to recognize a scam from your posts, I think you have done a great service! But, I am sure she is not the only person to read this and become aware. Good work, gals!!! |
The ad that I found was on hoobly.com, the original ad said that the lady was in my area. I thought "great, I can go and check out her operation, see if the puppy is being treated well etc." She led me to believe that the lady she was directing me to was also in the southeast. I contacted the administrator of the site and got the ad taken off. I just can't believe it   |
P.S Thanks for the awesome welcome! Still haven't got my yorkie baby, but not giving up! |

At least hoobly.com had the decency to stop the scammer where they can! |

Lori, So glad you found this thread in time. Be careful, there are way too many scammers out there these days. Oh, and welcome to YT. :) |

Could someone come up with an edited version of this thread that could be posted as a sticky? It would be great to get this info to as many people as possible regularly and this thread is just too monumental to expect people to read through. Just a thought. also...I'm guilty of going off topic here too a few times in the name of good fun...so mea culpa for some of the length. |

Craigslist has a great page on scams. I think the tips and hints on that page would apply to any online scams for the purchase of any item. http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html Cut and pasted below are portions of that page that should sound very familiar to those of us that followed this thread. Recognizing scams Most scams meet involve one or more of the following: - long-distance buyer or seller - offer includes a cashier's check, postal money order, Western Union, or escrow service (BidPay, Squaretrade, etc.) - refusal to meet face-to-face Types of Scams 3. distant seller requests payment via Western Union or MoneyGram: - seller often claims that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money - this is FALSE, once you've wired money, it is GONE. - common items currently: laptops, plasma TVs, cell phones, tickets - but could be almost anything - common countries currently include: Nigeria, Romania, Ukraine, Spain, UK, Italy, Netherlands - but could be anywhere - deal often seems too good to be true 6. distant seller asks for a partial payment upfront, after which he will ship goods - he says he trusts you with the partial payment - he may say he has already shipped the goods - deal often sounds too good to be true |

Hunniebunnie - I think your post about scams should be a sticky on this site... that is excellent information ....   |

It's about time! Lets hope they get them all off!!! Hmmm we know they had to have known something was up, do you think the FBI warning had something to do with it? After all puppyfind is only in it for the $$$$$ they really don't care who posts what. They have breeds that are in the wrong breed section. They are so sad. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown |
