I guess i'm really naive, but do they use other people's dog pictures and send something else or do they just take your money? How can Puppyfind better control this. This seems terrible. Before I got Cali I looked on nexydaypets and almost bought a puppy off of there but instint told em not to buy a dog site un seen. Not until I got on YT did I learn of thes scams. This is so horrible. I have never been to Puppyfind are there reputable breeders on there as well? |
 I am sooo sorry someone has done this! How scary! And those people who are out of money b/c someone wants to steal!!! |
I got the addition to favorites message, also. This whole thing is just terrible!!! We all need to watermark our photo's. It would be so easy for a scammer to join YT and snatch any number of pics. :thumbdown Y'all take care!! |
THAT IS SOOOOOO WRONG!! There is something fishy going on. I hope justice gets served! |
It seems I remember seeing an add for two yorkies last week that had to be sold because the people where going to Africa and I thought weird cause my hubby is going to Africa on a business trip. It wasn't on puppyfind but another site and I can't remember cause I looked at so many. Darn- I am so naive too, I just trust everything. Beware- |

Hey I got that message too!!! VERY WIERD!!! |
Remember a few months back someone had a post that they were selling their dog on YT and they had two pictures of the dog.. I found those pictures on another site of people who really owned them and when I brought it out in the open she never came back.. I think this is all a scam including the person emailing you (sorry, just how I feel) who in the heck would actually think you could buy a yorkie , any yorkie for $200-$400. It just doesn't happen. And if by chance someone was selling them they could easily sell them word of mouth in a day or two. And for those of you who hit the puppy find addresses and it came up added to your favorites, I think it was added to your puppy find favorites, not your bookmarks on your computer. Gosh I haven't had a chance to be on YT lately, So I go away for a few days and look what you guys got yourselves into!! I can't leave yoursides for a monment!! LOL :D |
I was looking on puppyfind a little while back and came across a picture that I knew was a lady's that lives not too far from me that breeds yorkies and the picture is on her website. I contacted her and told her that someone was using her pictures and told her which dog it was and sent her the link to it. Sure enough, it was someone using her pics as a scam. I think she contacted puppyfind and had the listing deleted. |
This is the kind of thing that ruins our faith in mankind and their integrity. I hate thinking ill of people. The only thing I can say is that they must be really desparate and for that I feel so sorry for them. Using a "Puupy Escrow" would prevent all of these types of scams. |
There was an ad last week from Balto with the circumstances of a minister who was getting too busy to take care of the dog. I wrote and asked for info, saying I live in MD, but no answer. Think I will hear from them?? LOL |
I was just wondering if anyone had seen the tab at the top of the page that says "Scam Alert". This is what it says on the page: Fraud Warning: It has come to our attention that a scam is being perpetrated on this website (as well as our competitor’s). The scammers are typically foreign (many are from Cameroon or Nigeria). Scammers targeting sellers send an overpayment requesting that the amount be deducted for the puppy and overpayment be returned to them (or to their “agent”). After the money has been refunded, the victim finds that the cashier’s check was counterfeit. Scammers who are targeting buyers on the site claim to have a puppy available to purchase. They are typically from Africa, or may state that they live in the U.S. but are traveling to Africa and can’t bring the puppies with them. They sell the dogs at a very inexpensive price and request payment via money order. Upon receipt of payment they claim that the puppy is now in London (or another location) and that additional money is required to get the puppy out of quarantine. This is the scam. There is no puppy and they will continue to try to get you to send additional money until you catch on and stop communication. There are ways to protect yourself from these scams. If you are a seller, verify funds prior to sending puppy. If you are a buyer, ask for references, speak to the seller on the phone, get a clear purchase contract, and check for reviews on the Puppyfind.com website. While the majority of our members have honest intentions, there are always a few “bad apples”. If you believe you are being scammed by a Puppyfind.com member, please contact us with the email address of the potential scammer. If you do fall victim to a scam, you can report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center by visiting www.ic3.gov. Thank you, Puppyfind.com Customer Care. |
You have got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is wrong with people? That is sooooooooooo wrong!!!!!!!!!!! They need to be stopped that is for sure. |
OMG I can't believe someone would steal your pics. That makes me so mad that someone could stoop that low to steal pictures to make a quick buck. It's sick, I'm so sorry that this happened. I guess watermarking your pictures will be a good idea, but annoying to think that you have to go to the trouble to protect your pics. |

It is a shame that it is becoming a lot harder to trust anyone these days. I would hate to think it is someone who has joined our site for the sole purpose of stealing our beautiful little babies pictures. |

Rini - did you get them shut down and caught or did they just remove the pictures ? I hope that woman (or man) got themnself BUSTED ...Cruiser is SO distinctive ...but I can't believe they'd use him in a selling scheme ! |
That is horrid! Before I bought Mia, I was scammed. I had even talked to this lady, many times, day & night. She had all the right answers. I sent a $600 postal money order and she disappeared. It was in Corsicana, TX. I called the Yorkie club there and they told me I was the 8th person to contact them, that the sheriff had a file and that there are NO dogs whatsoever at this property. After much investigation on my own, I discovered the lady was in PRISON in California for selling horses she didn't own over the internet. She had a cell phone and internet access and was using relatives addresses in TX(where she was originally from) to accept this money. I did end up getting my money back, but I know that others, who weren't as persistent and saavy didn't. I guess we all need to watermark our pics as this is way too frequent. Everyone be careful!! |

Anyone can join. A few weeks ago we had someone come on to say hi, this is my first post, just wanted to say hi. It had a link to Vegas I think, I didn't open it. You just never know. He hasn't been back on. It's so sad people can do things like this. They need to get a life! |
