Anyone used the iFetch A friend sent me a video of an pup using this product because she knows Cali is a "fetching machine". You cannot wear her out! The reviews seem to be up and down, but it also sounds like a great idea. See the iFetch videos on UTube Their website has a trainer showing you how to teach your dog to use it. The best price seems to be on the iFetch website, but Drs Foster & Brooks, as well as Amazon sell it. It seems to be around $114. |

Tibbe would love this at first, even play with it by himself for a good while, no doubt, but then he would lose interest in it unless I got involved in it. He gets bored with things after a while if I'm not in it with him - dang it. |
I want one so bad but just haven't had the money to get one. I think they look pretty awesome. |
Katie is ball obsessed, and she was given one as a gift by our very dear friend, Jackie. She ordered it before they came out to be sold to the public. When she came to visit with her three Yorkies, they were playing with it, and I wish I took videos of it. You can adjust how far you want it to go. I believe there are three settings. Katie isn't used to the size ball it uses, and I need to work with her to entice her to want to play with the ball. I bought extra ones, and it uses the balls the size of the smallest tennis balls that Kong makes. I think they are about 1.5 inches. Katie's obsession are the rubber bouncy balls ranging from 1"-1.25". They fit in the iFetch, but even though they are much smaller, they are heavier weighted. The iFetch can't propel them very far. Katie would definitely want me involved anyway. She loves being able to steal the ball away just as I reach to grab it. That's part of the fun. I definitely plan on working with Katie on it because I'd love for her to have something to play with a little on her own. This is really perfect if it could provide some extra play for Callie. |
I know a couple of ball-fetching Yorkie fanatics who have a similar machine and love it. |
We nearly bought it recently, but like others have said here, mine like the human interaction. Caleb would lose interest. I'd love one for Pippi as she has more energy than the other two put together, but I'm not sure she'd play without a me sitting right beside it encouraging. Another company do a similar machine for tennis balls, for outside, I wondering if that would be better as my collie would play with it all day. Pippi would love to steal the ball from him and make him chase her. Does anyone know the distances the ifetch throws? The amazon seller didn't specify and when I asked they didn't answer the question. I'm wonder if it would throw too far for our small house. |
There are three different distances you can choose: ten, twenty, or thirty feet. Frequently Asked Questions - iFetch Pet Toy - Automatic Ball Launcher |

I have one Zoey was interested in it right away but she wanted me to put ball in . I glad I taught her the "drop it" lesson cause I just kept on trying to show her how. Took about 3weeks and it seemed like a lightbulb came on for her. All of asuddenshe discovered she WAS going to drop it in there and there's no stopping her. Talk about obsessed! And when we have company she loves to show off and drps and runs over and over. She will play by herself but it's to get YOU to come and play too .......and you will😊 So worth the expense....and youcan get the small kong squeakers that that fit it too....even Izzy runs after her , I have to throw another one right after that shoots out so SHE has one to chase. It's funny Zoey , lays right in front of it in anticipation and knows when its going to shoot out by the way it revs up. I haveit on you tube http://youtu.be/56FCsbWWVq0 |
Vidio didn't work, try This link http://youtu.be/Pe4rfpn_Hd8 |
Great job Zoey! You are a clever little girl :D |

Does the machine only take one ball at a time? I thought a bunch could be loaded and the machine will keep throwing them out. In other words, does the dog have to be as smart as Zoey and keep bringing the ball back and putting it in the machine? (sorry if I am being thick headed, lol) |
Nope, you can put numerous balls in the "cup" and it will keep throwing them until it is out balls. |
