YT 500 Club Member | Fruits & Veggies What fruit & vegetables can a Yorkie have? My new pup will be ready to come home in April. I don't like the processed treats. Tried my late Yorkie on some veggies. He hated them! But tried as a adult. I would like to start this little guy on more healthy alternatives. Of course I will keep it safe. |

| Yes, carrots, green beans, pumpkin, peas & other legumes. Here is a thread about what you should NOT feed (food and plants that are dangerous). http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...oods-dogs.html I would add that apples are fine, but NOT their seeds, so get rid of their cores first.

| Go slow with fruits and veggies -- very tiny amounts. Not all pups tolerate them well. My boys don't do well with the usual carrots or apples, but they are fine with very limited baby sweet peas, green beans, and sweet potato. Very small amounts. We usually stick to steamed plain chicken breast.

| My girl loves a good, sweet strawberry, blueberry and/or banana. If it's not nice and sweetly ripe, she'll either snub it or not really eat it with gusto. If it's past the good ripeness or too green she'll not want it. lol, but she also loves cabbage, carrots, and even soybean All my dogs loves some good veggies and some sweet fruits ^^

| Mine love all fresh fruits.....all veggies, including lettuce, cucumbers, watermelon, anything I will feed them! I have to keep the "do not give" list hanging on the fridge so no one gives anyone something they are not supposed to eat! |

| Maggie May LOOOOVES bananas. I keep one on the counter and she gets bites all week long as her treat. She gets so excited for her "nanas".

| Mine love all berries, pears, peaches, apples, jicama, carrots, green beans, broccoli, kale, all squash, cucumber, bok choy, radishes, Brussels, bean and more. All these give raw except for squash, broccoli and kale, which I steam lightly. I make their own bones, and I give them small beef femur bones, raw, (minus the marrow) to chew.
