Yorkie attack dog!
 

I got a letter from the post master yesterday that informed me my Gizmo was a threat to the mail man. It said my mail has been suspended until he is no longer on the porch at mail time. I am still laughing my ass off. :p My daughter was so proud she put it on the fridge, picked him up and showed it to him.. how tough he was. You would just have to know Giz to see what a wuss he is, my little girlie man. Anyway, guess I have to call the post office to see if I have any mail there that my "beast" has prevented me from recieving. That just made my day. :D

LOLOLOLOLOLOL !!!! You better get a big sign for your Dog letting everyone know you have a Killer Watchdog ! What a funny letter - and your mailman sounds like a little weenie....Granted I can understand them being scared of a loose big dog - but a tiny little yorkie ?

I agree with Red Vett....your mail man is a big weenie.

Please be sure when you contact the postmaster to mention its a YORKIE that is being complained about~ That just makes my day! Fear of a little yorkie~ What does this guy think he could do to him? lol

He probably went to the post office, complaining about this DOG,and everyone there thinks it's a doberman, or pit, or a Rot. I would go to get my mail with the "ALLEGED ASSAILANT". in my arms, and say, " I decided to bring the Perp, with me since he can't be trusted at home." :rolleyes:

~ I have one of those stickers on my sliding door that says " Home Protected, by Yorkshire Terrier" But mine is a joke,, You really need one, EBAY!

..Think I'm gonna make me a cute little sign to hang by the front door next to the mail box saying BEWARE!!! with little smilies and paw prints on it. :p

The sticker on my door say :

I've never even seen a small child that's afraid of a little Yorkie!!! ;)

I was really cracking up at this post until I stopped and thought for awhile and all of a sudden I got scared for your little one. Of course it is because I think there are alot of sick people out there. But, this is what I thought - you take a picture into the Post Office and everyone there will start laughing at the person who wouldn't deliver your mail and this person gets mad and he then wants to get even. The only one he will get even with is your little dude :eek: and you would be hard pressed to prove the mail carrier was the one...I know I have a sick mind but rescue does that to you.

Thank you so much for the :eyetearss this morning! Reminds me of when the man from the gas company came to help install our new gas water heater. He almost broke his neck trying to get back in his truck when he heard Gabby barking. I told him it was okay, she was a small dog (yea, right...all 16 pounds of her..LOL) and that she was barking to say hello. I told him she would lick him to death before she bit him. He got back out of his truck then and petted her....they became fast friends:)

Awww...you must be so proud! (I would be! ;) ) I hope he is as big a threat to any would be burglers! :p But yeah, sounds like the mailman is a pansy!

That was too funny. The mailman scared of a Yorkie. I believe it thou. My neighbor is Not a dog person. Actually she hates Gucci. We live in an apt building and sometimes when we open the door Gucci "scapes" to the hallway. One day my neighbor was coming in and Gucci goes running towards her barking. Oh my gosh my neighbor was terrified, she started screaming and almost kick Gucci. My husband was so mad at our neighbor cause she was going to kick Gucci. The whole experience was "funny", not haha funny, but weird. You should have seeing Gucci barking at the neighbor and backing up. She will bark and run inside then come out bark at her and back up. The neighbor was in no danger but she acted like Gucci was going to bite her ankles off. I even told her relax, she is all bark, she is more scare of you. My husband even told her, since you don't like her she doesnt like you either.

Years ago my 7 pounder Priscella was in the front yard when the mailman came by, he was pulling out his mace when i snapped her up because she barked at him a couple of times. If he'd sprayed her I'd have pounded him into the ground ...jail be damned!

You know thats pretty pathetic that a grown man was scared of a little yorkie!! And people say that they can't be gaurd dogs!! See he did his job!! That is to funny that it he is scared of him, even though it would take him a week to chew through his ankle!!!! Oh the things people do! :D

Years ago, I got a letter like that because of my little poodle. I couldn't believe it. He was the sweetest little thing and had never really barked at anyone.

I worked, but in the summertime by girls let him out and sometimes he was out when the postman came by. Well, I was home one day and when the postman came, you should have seen the dog go berserk. I couldn't understand why until someone told me that the reason they get obsessed with the mailman is he comes in your yard, the dog barks, the postman leaves and the dog thinks he has run him off.

Anyway, they wouldn't deliver my mail until I promised my "visious" little poodle would not ever be outside when the weenie postman came.

I was home one day (we live in the country now) when our meter reader came by in a pickup. I looked out and she has her truck door open but wasn't getting out of the truck. Our Great Pyranee who was huge but was a teddy bear was standing by the truck door. I went running out and said "He isn't bothering you is he"? She said "Oh no, He's a sweetheart. I'm just giving him the treat I bring him every month." Smart Lady.

That is too funny!!! Just as funny as a 250 + lbs repairman running from Gus screaming like a girl. Both me and his partner were laughing so hard. He didn't think it was funny but come on. Like his partner said,,,,, "did you think he was going to chew though your steel toe boot and bite off your pinkie toe off?" I have to add Gus is under lbs right now and this happened when he was still a puppy and much smaller.

I realize that I am about to become a very unpopular person here. But what in the world are you people thinking? The world this day and age is a very dangerous place for a dog to live. There are laws being passed daily......hundreds of laws AGAINST the ownership of dogs.

Gizmo's mom I see you live in Texas?? Do you KNOW the laws in your county or city regarding dangerous dogs. Laws are not usually written per the SIZE of the dog but as to how vivsous the animal is. If there is a "dangerous dog law" it is usually three strikes and you're OUT! Meaning the government is going to kill your dog after three dog bites and sometimes even 3 threats. Size does not matter if things continue on the same course with the mailman. The U S Post Office has strick rules and regs regarding dogs. A threat is a threat even if it's a preceived threat.
IMO you should immediately attempt to make friends with your mailman! This is one person you simply do not want to hate your animal!!

IMO you (all of you) should stop laughing immediately. Your little girly dog has ONE strike against him.....a written warning letter. Is his rabies vaccine up to date?.....if not I would advise you renew his rabies shot ASAP....like TODAY. You do not want the sherriff to knock on your door and ask for it. Trust me you do not want that to happen.
I just wanted to add a bit of reality from the real world of today's attitude toward dogs in general. As pet owners we cannot allow our animals to threaten or even to make someone...anyone...afraid...because the dogs' very life may be in absolute danger. Animal control officers are no joke....many will follow the law to a tee and in TEXAS they are famous for following the law. They have NO guilt about taking your animal from you. There are many recorded cases of these events in TEXAS and the resulting death of the animal.
Anyway please please take whatever means necessary to keep your pet from getting "strike two". Just my humble opinion...and the real reality of the situation as I see! I mean no offense...I hope you can see I'm concerned for the well being of your Yorkie!

Oh my gosh! Scared of a yorkie? I guess he was fooled by the ferocious barking. Actually, Sammie and Gracie act like they are ready to kill when someone comes to the door, but when the person comes in, they are both flat on their backs waiting to be petted. GO GIZMO!!!!

Yes, me too. I don't mean to be a spoil-sport because it IS funny that the mailman is scared of a tiny dog, BUT... What the mailman is saying is that Gizmo is acting aggressively towards him. That rings all kinds of alarm bells in my head. Who will he be aggressive with next? Your kids?

Rescue isn't the worst that can happen to a dog. A humane society that doesn't have a "no kill" policy would be worse. You'd be surprised how many small dogs end up there.

Call me a scrooge, but I wouldn't take this lightly. I'd call a trainer or a behaviorist.
