Nibbling/Nipping at bedtime normal??? Is this a behavior problem or is my puppy crazy?? I have a Yorkie puppy 5 months old 2 lbs he sleeps in bed with me Every night for a half hour before we go to sleep he starts nibbling my skin not nastily no growling Just uses front teeth to nibble on my hands arms neck back then he falls off to sleep but his teeth are sharp & it hurts how do I get him to stop?? Any1 else experience this or do I have Damien |
Hi and welcome to YT :). All you can really do is continue to redirect him when it happens. You can also make a "yelp" noise like a fellow littermate would make to let him know it hurts. |
Maybe substitute a soft, soft (collapsible) little rubber toy for him to nibble--not chew/gnaw on; watch closely...Maybe it's just his way of sucking his thumb, you know? Comforting, baby behavior? |
Oh my goodness...2lbs....soooo teensy!!! :) Sounds to me like he's doing what he'd do to his 'fur' mummy when he's winding down, getting ready for sleep, kind of pretend suckling....:) Totally agree with Jkpal....do they make a 'puppy sucking/nibbling comforter'? Probably! :D Oh, and welcome to YT - happy to meet you both! :) Sally + Harry :aimeeyork xx |
