Gail I disagree on this, Mini was several months old before her defects showed up and needed hip surgery on both sides, remember when they are tiny, weight little and compact rubbery bone babies many things don't show right away. Anyway I agree with the rest.... OP I'm so sorry and I know how you feel and I know that feeling we feel when we know something isn't right with our babies...just love and be loved enjoy the time, no matter how long it will be...I AM SO SORRY. If you need to talk to someone who understands pm me, I'd be happy to talk to you...(((((Giant hugs for momma and furbaby))))))) |
He is so cute! I think Wilber knew when he picked you that he was getting a forever home complete with forever loving. You have a heart of gold and your precious baby is so lucky to have chosen you. Hugs to you and baby Wilbur. |
I am so so sorry and so sad for the both of you! Big hugs to you and your little boy! I will keep both of you in my prayers for sure. |
I'm so extremly sorry that sounds just horrible. Just dont let the poor baby suffer. Did you have a health guarantee you signed when you got him? |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 403638 This is today. Wilbur adores my 3 year old Granddaughter. She is very gentle with him. I explained that he has a "boo boo" back. She loves to carry him in his basket with his blankie. He is such a precious little pup ! Why does he have to go through this? |

My heart just hurts for you and your darling boy! I think Wilbur chose you because he knew you were strong and would always be there for him and be the best Yorkie mommy for him. Our babies are never with us long enough, but their love is unconditional and total. Enjoy that and your blessed time with Wilbur. No question you will continue to do what is best for him. Prayers and hugs! |
What a very heartbreaking situation. I am sorry. Just a note of hope for you , though. I have a dog with pretty severe spinal issues due to a whelping box injury (Her mother landed on her neck when she jumped a baby gate). Hoppy is almost 7 and still thrilled to be alive and loved. I know her life will be shorter than it should be, but, they adapt and there are great meds out there to help support them. I was advised to keep her on Vit C as it seems to help alleviate some joint pain. Hoppy has no problems 'pogo-sticking' around the yard (I have an acre) and loves to harass my ducks and chickens. I wish you all the very best. |

I'm sure that Wilbur picked you well , you are doing all you can for him and he will have a happy life with you for as long as possible. |
This is tragic. I am sorry that you and your little guy are going through this. One thing you said I disagree with though. The breeder offered no compensation and I'm sure right now that is not important to you but it is important that whoever this person is never causes such pain to another puppy or it's owner. This is not about being vindictive or mean spirited. It is about stopping the suffering. I hope that you will consider doing what you can to cause that person to think again when it comes to her breeding "hobby." |

Yes, he is indeed precious. I am sort of in the same boat with my baby girl Bijou. We believe she has MVD an is symptomatic. She is 22 weeks old. |
Your sorry broke my heart and warmed my heart at the same time. You share a beautiful kind of love, and I know from taking care of an ill little one in the past, the love and bond grows even stronger. I'm so sorry that you and your precious little boy are going through this. I am hopeful for a more positive outcome and that Wilbur experiences no pain. I'm very easy going and not one to make waves, but I agree that your breeder should be held accountable. I realize that even the best breeders who do health testing have genetic issues, but it's how they handle their health issues which sets one apart from the other. |
Im so sorry for you to hear this news, sending prayers |
