$10,000 for a yorkie?? Hi! I'm new to the site, and a wanna-be yorkie owner. Doing lots of homework first, though! :) Thanks to this site, I'm savvy to the whole "teacup" issue, so I already know that this breeder should be avoided. (The site ooked me out to begin with, anyway!) (they claim to be #1 yorkie site in the world) But seriously, I wanna know: under ANY circumstances, is there ANY yorkie that is honestly worth $10,000??? (see: "Paris") |
Yep this site has been talked about alot on here and is one to avoid. |
The 10,000.00 dog?? I dont believe anyone should spend that kind of money on one dog,, if someone can,, great,,but how about you buy one for the price of 1,000.00 or less,, Like everyone else..and donate the other 9,000.00 to your local shelter, to help hundreds more dogs. IMO it would be crazy to spend that kind of money on a dog. But 10,000.00 is ALOT of money to me, to someone that it is not, I guess, whatever,, but it could be spent alot wiser is my point. |
This person is deliberately breeding small tiny Yorkies and is asking ridiculous prices for them. Shame on her! Also - it you look at the ages of these little pups - she seems to be having a hard time getting the prices she wants. The puppies are darling, but, yes - I would avoid buying from her. Carol Jean |
oooOOPS, sorry, didn't realize I was bringing up a hot topic! This site was mentioned to me by someone in RL, and I guess I wanted to confirm the nasty vibes I got from it. Reading the first page of the first thread that came up in a search was enough for me. Thanks~! |
Those dogs aren't worth it IMO. They're not even AKC registered. It is just an advertising scheme to make you think that you're getting a good deal from him when he "goes down in price" by hundreds. :thumbdown |
Well I see everyone has already said the same things I would. So welcome to YT, hope we can help you in all your endevours to find your perfect furbaby! Good luck! |

I can't STAND him or his wife. I'll say this - the guy sure is slick at marketing....he's like the Used Car salesman on the corner....problem is - he's selling Living Souls... |
First off, welcome to YT! Yes, Jeff Dane is a no-no. :thumbdown  Props to you for being responsible and doing your homework first. I am sure that your doing so will benefit you in the end and I have no doubt you will find the perfect little bundle of fur! :) |
My god! How many pups does he have for sale? :thumbdown |
Welcome aboard!!!! Sounds like you have done some homework, that's great! That price is outrageous. I guess it would be a drop in the bucket for a celebrity wanting one though. |
I've never seen this website before and it just makes me sad... How could someone call themselves a breeder and use the term "teacup" :questione |
 10,000 What does it do s**t gold  Not the most atractive looking dog either poor little thing :( :( What a creepy looking site :thumbdown |
Yup, stay away!! Anyone asking $10,00 for any puppy is nuts and asking $1500 for a mutt even crazier!! But people are nuts!! |
Maybe this is kinda off the topic but when I went and looked at this site (just now) it really reminded me of when I was looking for my little girl. I will probably get slammed for this but truthfully I was looking for a Yorkie that would be 2-3 lbs full grown. I did find a few that were to expensive for me. I found Roxy and fell in love with her. I paid a very fair price of $1400 for her expecting her to be about 3 lbs. She is now a little over 4 lbs and everytime I hold her, I think to myself what was I thinking? She is still very small to me. I honestly think if she were 2-3 lbs she would be WAY to small. I am wanting to get another female for our family and now that I know more about this breed I have completely changed my thoughts of what I want. I know I want my female about 5 lbs and not smaller. I wish that everyone could really see what its like taking care of such a small baby before they buy. I love Roxy very much and wouldnt trade her for anything but its funny how after only 7 months my view has changed so much. |
No one would Ever slam you for that - many people DO want tinies...and your post is a good example of why we talk about it so much - they ARE tiny.... even a 5-6 pounder is .... What Jeff Dane is doing is profiting from the belief that tiny means cuter and unfortunately - it also can mean heartache too. His prices are UNREAL....& his selling pitch is just that - a PITCH. I hate to think about what those tiny females go thru having all those babies. |
This is the saddest thing. I couldn't help visiting this site after reading what you guys said. Oh, I wish I hadn't. I can't get those little guys and girls faces out of my mind. It makes me hug my babies just a little bit closer!! Thanks for that. |
Well, welcome to YT...I just hope that the people that can afford these dogs are very careful, I mean I have seen Gerbils larger than that. Oh my, they are fully grown!! |
scrappymomma, I know exactly what you mean...My aunt has a 5.5 lb yorkie, and he just seems sooo tiny! I think of Miko as a little guy and he's 9lbs! LOL |

I can relate to the wanting a tiny one at first also, Sometimes I don't think we realize how tiny even 5 lbs is. Mine range from 4.5 to 8lb and that is plenty small enough. But at first I didn't know any better. How tiny can those internal organs be and still function properly? |
I appreciate that perspective. I admit that if I wasn't aware of the potential health issues, I'd be one thinking, "The tinier, the better". You're right...seven pounds IS a little dog! |
Thanks for not freaking out on me for admitting my original intentions, it is very sad how he is purposely breeding these tiny girls. Did u see the pic where it says looking out my front door, there is a a suburban on the same side as the dogs are, unless he parks his suburban in his house it should say looking inside....lol. Alright Im not gonna go on and on with this topic I just felt like expressing my feelings earlier I hope everyone is having a good day today! |
I just looked at the website. Those poor babies look so sad. ican only imagine how they are kept. |
Kim-Girl!! you crack me up!! :lol tears :lol tears :eyetearss :lol tears :lol tears Quote:

Yorkiepup This guy Jeff Dane is beyond nightmare. I feel so sorry for those dogs he has. This is his website as well http://www.yourpup.com/ and to be avoided at all costs. He used to be in monster trucks but didn't make much money so went into puppymilling instead. He still sells farm equipment as well. There were other message boards that his name came up on, he got wind of it, did all kinds of nutso stuff then shut down the boards by spamming them with farm equipment. DO NOT in any circumstances email this guy criticizing his practices. He is one to be avoided. |

I also personnally know of 4 people in the area who have driven to his place the last few months. They all report the conditions of his place. But even more important. They all purchased a purebred Yorkie for under $500. Yep that's right. You put up your money and he reaches into a kennel cage and hands you a Yorkie! So those HIGH prices on the websites are just a scam...an attempt to separate a fool from his money! |
I am so confused and can't figure out who in their right mind would want a dog that tiny and fragile if you want a pet that small get a rat of guinea(sp) pig i know they are not as cute but come on. |

I have posted in a couple of spots on YT that somehow in May I had a bitch that delivered two healthy normal birth size girls. These girls somehow matured to 2 1/2 lbs and 3 1/4 lbs in size. I have no idea why as in 10 years of breeding I have never produced this small. Sire and dam are both almost 6 lbs so what happened I don't know. I now have one spayed and going to a pet home for free. I gave her to a friend of mine that has two of my dogs. She is aware of what is involved with these little ones. The other one is already in a home with the owner of one of my dogs, the great grandmother to these two. Also I gave that one free to this friend. I do not breed for this, I do not want to sell them to anyone but I will give them to a friend that I approve as a home providing they understand requirements of care for these tinies and are nearby to me so I can give them any help they may need. Both said they would pay for the spaying which is fine, it doesn't matter to me if they do or don't, and for which the one I already have had spayed was less than $200 for the procedure from my local and very good Vet. |
That is Horrible! :( |
